Attendees enjoyed fun-filled indoor and outdoor activities. Miniature golf held in the second floor stacks and a puppet show on the first floor were both very popular. No one wanted to miss the face painting, henna tattoos, carnival games, and outdoor races. Entertainment included a jug band, a steel drum band, a men’s barbershop acapella group, and a DJ, as well as a magician, a penny-farthing bicyclist and a stilt-walker. We had a baking contest and a crazy hat contest (in honor of the first library, which was above a hat shop on Main Street in Spring Valley). And what is a country fair without food? We had ice-cream, hot dogs, soſt pretzels, cotton candy, Indian vegetarian dishes and, of course, popcorn and country lemonade. e festivities concluded with an outdoor concert featuring Memories of You. Miniature golf held in the second floor stacks and a puppet show on the first floor were both very popular. No one wanted to miss the face painting, henna tattoos, carnival games, and outdoor races. We had a baking contest and a crazy hat contest (in honor of the first library, which was above a hat shop on Main Street in Spring Valley). And what is a country fair without food? We had ice-cream, hot dogs, soft pretzels, cotton candy, Indian vegetarian dishes and, of course, popcorn and countrylemonade. The festivities concluded with an outdoor concert featuring Memories of You. Photographs taken by staff members Chris Coleman and Juanita Greene.
