Ecuador:Located in the Pacifi c Ocean, this beautiful Andean country contains all the ingredients necessary for students to gain an authentic Latin American perspective: a variety of geography, ethnic diversity, active democracy and a diverse ecology. La Universidad San Francisco de Quito is a four year Liberal Arts institution and is the ideal place for students who wish to immerse themselves in Latin American culture. La Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil is a highly regarded four year university that offers a wide range of courses of study including philosophy, engineering, architecture, literature and communications, education, psychology, economics, medicine, technical education and law.

Dominican Republic:Learn about Caribbean society and culture while developing oral and written Spanish language skills. Through university courses, home stays, and a community service program, students with any experience level in speaking Spanish (even none at all!) will enjoy the beautiful country while learning the language. Pontifi cia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra has designed their programs for students entering with no language background or intermediate level language skills. Nine credits of Spanish are offered and at least two other courses are taught in English. Students with advanced Spanish language skills will have a program with a selection of regular university courses.

Vinyasa (Flow) YogaBased on the Sun Salutation, Vinyasa Yoga is known for its dynamic, meditative and creative sequences. This fl owing style combines rhyth-mic breathing with conscious movement, increasing strength and fl exibility while unit-ing body, breath and mind. Experience being totally present in the midst of movement and enjoy the fl ow of being alive. Recommended for students with some previous Yoga experi-ence. Hatha Yoga I: Release From TensionHatha Yoga may be the answer if the tension and stress of everyday life are getting you down, if you are unable to let go and relax, or if you feel the need to get your body back into shape but dislike strenuous exercise. The slow, gentle stretching is designed to release muscular and mental tension, to tone and fi rm the entire body, and to open energy channels clogged with tension buildup. Beginning Tai Chi ChuanTai Chi Chuan is a set of naturally fl owing movements performed slowly in a sequence with a spirit of calmness, balance, and aware-ness. It teaches ways of relaxation and is ex-cellent for stress reduction. Regular practice develops strength and fl exibility of the joints, muscles and ligaments, while enhancing the performance of the cardiovascular system with a minimum of strain on the body. Natural SoapmakingMake old-fashioned soap while learning the history of soapmaking. Learn how to procure and complete your choice of laundry stain bar or basic complexion bar (lavender, cinnamon or lemongrass) and go home with 30 bars of wonderfully colored and scented soap. Using Premier Studio, the instructor helps you access the publishing system, upload photos, search for digital artwork and how to use the “tools” of the system. Create an Appalachin Mountain Egg BasketThe Appalachian Mountain Egg Basket is the most recognized of any American style basket. This lobe-shaped basket is ideal for begin-ners and advanced basket weavers. Please bring to class: your lunch, a 2 gallon basin, a cloth tape measure, a small sharp knife, small needle-nose pliers and a towel. Driver Education for High School Students This Driver Education course for High School Students is approved by the New York State Education Department. Successful completion of the class entitles you to receive an MV285. State regulations require that students fulfi ll the attendance requirement for this certifi cate. Students who do not fulfi ll the attendance standard will not be issued an MV285. Adaptive Driving Services, Inc. provides in-car instruction, and a certifi ed driver education instructor provides the classroom instruction. Student information packets are mailed upon registration. In your packet is a parent’s permis-sion agreement. This must be brought to the parents’ meeting. Half of the battle of understanding something new is understanding the terminology. Parking at BCCEveryone registering for a Continuing Educa-tion class is mailed a confi rmation letter and a yellow parking permit. Please display this permit on your car’s dashboard while you are in class. If you require handicapped parking access, please call 778-5012.If you register for a class too late for a permit to be mailed to you, stop at the Continu-ing Education offi ce to pick one up before parking for your class. The offi ce is located in Room 115 of the Wales Administration Building.Parking Evenings, WeekendsBCC has an open parking policy after 5 p.m. and on weekends. However, the following gen-eral parking regulations are always in effect:• No parking is allowed on grass, roadways, or

parking lot perimeters.• No parking without a special BCC permit is

allowed in handicapped zones.• No parking is allowed in Lot 17, which is

reserved at all times for staff. Please know that violators of these regula-tions will be ticketed and fi ned. Although there are small lots immediately adjacent to campus buildings, these lots are often full by 5:30 p.m. Continuing Education recommends using the main campus parking lot (Lot 1), which is just minutes away from all buildings. The South Entrance to the campus leads most quickly to Lot 1. From that lot there are four pathways to various sections of campus (see map).Parking WeekdaysIf your class is scheduled during weekdays, when credit courses are in session, please use your Parking Permit for any student lot (see map).
