State Convention ~ Cow Camp 2016 Awards & Scholarships
This summer’s Cow was held at Fresno State July 24-26, and hosted 46 Junior Cow Enthusiasts and 5 Chaperones. Thank you to all whose time and efforts made this event a success, especially Coordinator Taylor Pires! Campers enjoyed a variety of educational and fun actvities- including these highlights and sessions:* A tour of the Fresno State Dairy Unit and an udder dissection lesson given by Leonardo De Leon, Enterprise Manager and Dairy Teaching Associate at Fresno State.* Eric Migliazzo (graduate Cow Camper) helped prepare the Welcome BBQ with his AGR brothers, and also helped with the educational activities. * The DAIRY GODDESS, Barbara Borges-Martin famously known for Dairy Goddess Farmstead Cheese and Cream Top Milk gave the Cow Campers a lesson in Social Media and how to use it to promote the Dairy Industry* Ron & Connie Kuber from Connor Agriscience conducted a fun and education workshop on Dairy Silage and Feeds. * The Cow Campers also participated in a fun filled Dairy Jeopardy Match moderated by Hayley Fernandes. * The final day of Cow Camp brought us to the blue waters of the Island Water Park, where the Cow Campers had fun in the sun with all of their old and new Cow Friends!
