Jean Paul Broc Fall 2015 Portfolio

This project proposes a new housing typology focused on collective spaces and the use of ground as vertical circulation. A separation from a car-based design and a break from symmetry, monotony and set geometries is encouraged thorugh the use of the drool. As the housing shortage in los angeles keeps increasing, the need for density and a typology of the collective is needed with a sense of urgency, and the drool is the perfect respnse to these troubling social issues. Part one is the analysis of the different needs and types of housing available thoughout the city. Part two starts exploring the site, Park La Brea, and systematizes the aggregation of units and their location in the site. Part three introduces the drool as the tool to increase density and transform the site into a pedestrian-friendly environment.
