Agribusiness Conference

Four MAB students, Katie Padilla, Claudette Reyes, Priya Sivakumar, and Devon Smolak, recently attend-ed the Women in Agribusiness conference with the director of the MAB program, Dr. Victoria Salin.

Katie Padilla said, “Mostly the biggest take away that I left the conference with is that whenever you're trying to network, you can't be afraid to just walk up to some-one and strike up a conversation. When asked how she knew TAMU was the place she wanted to be, Christina stated, “I was glad to be part of a state institution, especially one with the reputa-tion of Texas A&M. I want to be proud of the place I work for.” What is Christina’s favorite TAMU tradi-tion? “Of course football games are #1. But I’ve been going to ring days and graduations for years; I am proud to see people make such great accom-plishments.” Christina knows A&M, but to get to know her, we asked one icebreaker: If you were famous, what would you be famous for? Christina answered proudly, “If I were famous, I would be famous for bass fishing. My passion is fishing. I used to do a lot of saltwater fishing when I lived in Houston, now I do freshwater fishing. I prefer catching the bigger fish.” In case you were wondering, her biggest bass was 8-9 lbs. Congratulations on the new position, Christina Hilliard, and welcome to the Aggie community! You can reach Christina by telephone at 979-458-5539, or in room 210E of the AGLS Building.
