FALL 2019
“Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself.”GEORGE BERNARD SHAW
Nothing fosters children’s imaginations better than a book. They help
us understand the world, pique our natural curiosity, impart knowledge,
and hearten us to be empathetic and brave.
Meet a dog who is caring for his friends on the streets in
Garbage Dog—a story about kindness which perfectly suits the colder
seasons—or dive into new pop-up book about an acrobat family
having fun together. Let’s Go to Italy! kicks off a new book series about
exploring different countries, and this first instalment takes you
across the country via your belly, and through historical highlights,
giving a fun overview on la dolce vita. Last but not least, we are edu-
cating the new generations through Precious Planet, which details how
to take better care of Earth.
Little Gestalten celebrates today’s most innovative authors and
illustrators by bringing their work to life through pop-ups, charming
picture books, classic fairytales with a contemporary twist, and
original works of non-fiction. Thoughtfully designed, diligently
printed and bound, our books are pushing the boundaries of tradi-
tional storytelling.

A heartwarming tale about a dog that makes his way from the streets to a new home, discovering the true meaning of family and friendship along the way.
It’s a tough life for a dog living on the streets. It’s no picnic having
to fight for scraps, and no fun trying to find a dry spot to rest your
head. But even in the darkest of times, Garbage Dog keeps his spirits
up and looks after his animal friends. Gorgeously illustrated and
written in humorous rhyme, Garbage Dog is a sweet tale about kind-
ness and what it means to be a true friend.

Six Little Birdsby Olivia Cosneau & Bernard Duisuit
A story about finding your place in the world.
Goliath is a boy who is much bigger than everyone else. Feeling
lonely and out of place, he leaves his home and goes on a journey.
Author and illustrator Ximo Abadía explores concepts of childhood,
growing up, and the complexities we all face while searching for
our place in the world. This is a tale that will resonate with every
child who has ever felt different.
A magical, rhyming pop-up book that tells the story of six little birds.
What do six young birds do once they've learned to fly? One bird
nibbles on a sunflower, another flies dangerously close to a hawk, and
one bird says goodbye to all of the birds who are flying south. Then,
during winter, another little bird meets some new friends, and finally
the story finishes in the spring in a full circle, right where it all began.
Simple rhymes and colorful illustrations make Six Little Birds
a charming pop-up for small children. The book teaches children
counting skills, and educates them about the four seasons, nature,
and the cycle of life.
