Upcycled Greeting Cards

These bright, cheerful greeting cards use upcycled waste paper to illustrate beautiful potted flowers. Each handmade design is affixed to a thick, soft, cream-colored cardstock. These are blank greeting cards, making them versatile for gifting throughout the year. Each card includes an envelope and is sealed in a plastic sleeve.

Meet the Artisans: Recycled Paper ProductsRecycled Paper Products (RPP) is a green company that repurposes paper waste into fun animal and exquisite flower shapes. RPP uses only waste paper – newspapers, magazines, and telephone books – in addition to dyes and household wire to create these inventive, colorful crafts. RPP uses the inspiration it gets from the exotic plant, insect, and animal life found in Southeast Asia to design its products.

Started in the poor Bangkok neighborhood of Din Daeng, RPP currently employs 30 women, many of whom are single mothers or in low-income households. In 2003, RPP was honored at the IFAT (the World Fair Trade Organization) Biennial Conference for its “best new adaptation of traditional designs and skills.”

Meet the Artisans: Akha Jewelry

The Akha people are indigenous to South East Asia and live throughout Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Eastern China. Our artisan collective employs over one hundred crafts people, and offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, as well as the opportunity to work from home. This offers maximum flexibility for the artisans to work around their own schedules and other personal or family commitments.

A central and highly productive workshop also provides a great social environment where the sound of laughter is abundant as artisans are happy to come work together in a relaxed and fun setting.

Meet the Artisans: Ton Fai

Ton Fai, Thai for cotton tree, expresses our weavers’ commitment to using only 100% cotton fibers in the production of all their textiles. Each step in the crafting process, from the spooling and dyeing of the yarns, to setting the weft and running the shuttle, is done by hand in the traditional Thai style passed down through generations of weaving culture.

Though primarily fruit and rice farmers, the Ton Fai group has been weaving for 15 years in between their harvest and planting seasons as a secondary source of sustainable income for their families. As opposed to many rural Thai needing to leave their families behind to seek supplemental income in larger cities, this local business allows the weavers to work on their own schedules and with their neighbors in their own beautiful mountainside community.

Making Sales EasyAll our products come with packaging that make for clean, colorful displays. Whether you are showing off the products from slatwall, shelves, or tabletop, you are sure to catch customers’ eyes.

In order to help build personal connections between your customers and the artisans, every product is labeled with the Fair Trade Federation logo and information about where its from or how its made. We also include free printed material about our atisan groups to display alongside their products.

To simplify your inventory management, each piece is already individually barcoded. Upon request, we can send you a UPC chart to help get your sales system ready to recieve your shipment.

Meet the Artisans: Binh Minh

After dyeing shawls, this artisan is hanging Purple Binh Minh Shawls to line dry.

The weaving collective Binh Minh is named for their village in northern Vietnam. It is comprised of twenty families that operate twenty five looms. Binh Minh exclusively uses locally raised silk in all of their yarns.

Binh Minh is Vietnamese for “morning sun.” The village is located just a few miles from the South China Sea, offering a spectacular sunrise every morning.
