Autumn Red Wrap with Flower
By: Caron Yarn The deep bold red color of this wrap is perfect for the fall season. It's great to wear for holidays and it'll keep you nice and warm. The flower pin makes it a girly crochet pattern, an easy crochet pattern too.
Crochet Hook: K/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Materials:
Caron International's Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m): #9730 Autumn Red (A), 2 skeins (for Wrap and Flower), #9742 Grey Heather (B), 2 skeins.
One size US K/10.5 (6.5 mm) crochet hook for Wrap. One size US 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook for Flower
Tapestry needle (tn), Five 4mm round dark grey beads, for Flower, Sewing thread and needle, for Flower, Pin back – 1 1/4" long, for Flower
Note: Hold one strand of each color together throughout for Wrap; use single strand for Flower.
GAUGE: Not critical for this project
SPECIAL TERMS:
V-st: Work [dc, ch 1, dc] in next st.
STITCHES USED: Chain (ch), Double crochet (dc), Half double crochet (hdc), Single crochet (sc), Treble crochet (tr). Three and Two Stitch (multiple of 6 sts + 2; 2 row repeat) Work base chain.

Row 1: Ch 3, *skip 2 sts, work 3 dc in center of dc-3 of previous row, work V-st in ch-1 space of V-st of previous row; rep from * across, end dc in top of turning ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, *work Vst in ch-1 space, 3 dc in center of next dc-3; rep from * across, end dc in top of turning ch, turn. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for Three and Two st.
NOTE: Wrap is worked from end to end.
WRAP Base Chain: Using 1 strand of each color held together, chain 22. (RS) Beg Three and Two st; work even for 15 rows, counting Foundation Row.
Shape Sides: Cont as est, inc one pattern (V-st or dc-3) at beg and end of this row, then every other row twice—3 patterns increased each side; place a marker (pm) each side. Work even until piece measures 30" from markers; pm each side.

FINISHING:
Using tn, weave in all ends.
Attach Beads: With WS facing, using sewing needle and matching thread, attach thread to center of flower. * Insert needle through center of flower to RS, thread on first bead, bring needle and thread to WS; rep from * for each bead, forming a circle of beads in the center of the flower, using photo as a guide. Sew pin back to center of flower on WS.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Hand Washing And Drying: Turn inside out and wash gently in warm water using a mild detergent.
Gently rinse well in cold water. Lay flat on a towel and roll in towel to
remove excess water. DO NOT WRING, STRETCH OR HANG TO DRY.
Handling Instructions: When using the yarn, be sure to tie a knot at the beginning of each skein and at both yarn ends when joining. A small amount of shedding can be expected when using this yarn under normal conditions.

Crochet Hook: size 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Measurements: Approx 24 x 70 ins [61 x 178 cm] Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] Stripe Pat: Work 2 rows of each color in following sequence: A, B, C, A, D, E. These 12 rows form Stripe Pat. INSTRUCTIONS Note: Shawl is worked widthwise. With A, ch 227. 1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. 226 sc. Notes:
The shawl includes rows of Broomstick (Jiffy) lace. There are two steps in working Broomstick lace. First, loops of stitches are extended and placed on a large knitting needle (the broomstick). Next the loops are worked off the needle with single crochet.
In Broomstick lace, there are many different ways to hold the large knitting needle. Experiment with different grips and placement of the large knitting needle to find a position that works for you.
SHAWL: Base Ch 4. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, turn—3 sc. Row 2 (RS): Ch 1, working in front loops only, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st, turn—4 sc. Row 3: Ch 2, turn, sc in second ch from hook; working in front loops only, sc in each sc across, turn—5 sc. Rows 4 and 5: Work Rows 2 and 3—7 sc. Row 6 (opening loops): Hold knitting needle close to work. Extend loop on

With RS facing, join yarn with slip st in any st along edge of shawl. Round 1: Ch 1, work sc evenly spaced around entire shawl, working 3 sc in each corner and point of shawl; join with slip st in first st. Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in each corner and point of shawl; join with slip st in first st. Fasten off. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.

Cream Cotton Shrug

You can wear this Cream Cotton Shrug over a sweater in the fall or as a light jacket in the summer. Crochet this shrug in your free time and you won't regret it!
Crochet Hook: J/10 or 6 mm hook
Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Materials:
12 oz. Sugar n Cream cotton yarn (or any other yarn that will give you the same gauge)
Size J crochet hook
Gauge: 5 dc, ch 1 pattern = 3 inches, 6 rows

Size: 20 inches across the back under the arms and 16 inches across the back between the shoulders. Sleeves measure 13 inches from under the arm to the end and 15 inches from the shoulder to the end. 20 inches in length.

almost looks like the shell stitch for
the corners. This is such a pretty
dishcloth if a fun variegated yarn is
used. Try your hand at this new
