Day 1 – October 25 – Home / Abingdon, VA Today we depart for a new Fall Foilage tour through the mountains of Tennessee into the Heart of Appalachia surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and arrive in Abingdon, VA, our home for the next three nights. Day 2 – October 26 – “Sherlock Holmes & the American Problem” / “Music Man” Today we visit the lovely town of Abingdon and the Barter

Theatre where we are treated to a backstage tour. This afternoon we’ll see “Sherlock Holmes and the American Problem”, a show of mystery, suspense, deceit and brilliant deductions. Victori-an England is smashed together with the Wild West in a case that only Sherlock Holmes can unravel. After an included din-ner, we’ll see the classic Broad-way musical, “The Music Man”, where a fast-talking “professor” con-vinces the parents of an Iowa school to buy band instruments and uniforms to save the youth from the corrupting influence of the local pool hall.

Day 3 – October 27– Bristol Speedway / “Ghost, Ghost, Come Out Tonight” Today we tour with our local guide, Jim, who has appeared in the TV show, Mountain Men, on the History Channel. We’ll hear stories from the days od Daniel Boone! The it’s on to Bristol Speedway and a lap around the track! Then we’ll visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, where we will learn about the beginning of country music in 1927. Our afternoon concludes with visits to many Abingdon historical places. This evening we’ll enjoy an included dinner at the famous Martha Washington Inn, before another show at the Barber Theatre—”Ghost, Ghost, Come Out Tonight”. This show is about a couple, their friends and several acres of remote woodlands, supposedly haunted by a pitchfork-weidling ghost bent on revenge. Wi Day 4 – October 28 – Home Today it’s homeward bound, with an included farewell lunch that will highlight our day. We will arrive home early evening with many fond memories of an unique Fall Foliage Adventure.
