This class will emphasize body awareness and control as well as strength, flexibility, safety knowledge and listening skills.

NEW REGISTRATION OPTION FOR PROGRESSIVE CLASSES!!!!! Experience shows that due to the progressive nature of our gymnastics programs, children will accomplish greater progress by remaining with the program for more than one session, ideally for the school year. Our gymnastics program follows both USA Gymnastics and YMCA guidelines. In Fall 2010, we are implementing the e-pay option for all progressive levels, (Jumpers through Flyers) and Tumbling classes. During class times, our program will also focus on the four core values of the YMCA, and all students will be encouraged to adhere to the YMCA principles of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Caring in a positive environment. Pick the day and time that works for you, and enroll your child for the school year. Advancement will be determined upon teacher recommendation. Our successful program offers children the chance to try gymnastics for the first time, while also providing a full year curriculum to expand their gymnastics skills. Levels shown in parentheses are USA Gymnastics Level equivalents. Gymnasts will be given the opportunity to participate in various community demonstrations as well as a holiday and year-end show. If your child has not been in one of the two most recent sessions of gymnastics, please call Sue Thomas at (908) 630-3512 to arrange an evaluation. At the end of each session, parents will receive information regarding their child’s progress. For those parents who do not wish to utilize the school year option, other arrangements can be made. Contact Sue Thomas at (908) 630-3512. New children will be welcome into classes at any time* and e-pay payments will be pro-rated for the remainder of the school year. E-pay option installment information can be found on the following page.*Depending on the level and the child’s ability, the Gymnastics Director may recommend his/her participation in a brief Pre-entry skills clinic for a small additional fee.

The Progressive Classes below offer the options of Full Pay (school year) or E-pay (3 installments)

wellnessTRX Suspension Training®Traditional weight training often only works one muscle at a time which is contradictory to the normal coordinated muscle effort used to complete most activities. Focusing on only one muscle at a time is more likely to lead to overuse, injuries and muscular imbalances, as well as potentially limiting strength and movement gains. Suspension Training® allows for the use of multiple planes of motion and works multiple muscles and joints simultaneously. Individual or partner sessions are available by appointment only. Personal training fee applies. Contact Jen Brumbaugh at [email protected].

Then, refer to page 22 and review the class schedule to decide which day and time best suits your family’s needs. If your child has not been in one of the two most recent sessions of swim class, or you’re uncertain of your child’s swimming ability, please call the Aquatics Department on extension 1503. If we find that your child has been registered in the wrong level, we reserve the right to either change your child to the appropriate level if possible, or we will refund your registration fee.
