Banana Beer ProductionGet to work smashing bananas and grinding sorghum grain to help make this traditional local beverage. Afterwards, enjoy some delicious bannana beer with the local women.

Agricultural TourExperience a day in the life of Rwandan family, waking up early to feed the animals followed by planting or harvesting local crops. After a work-fi lled morning, relax in the shade with the family and refresh with a snack.

POTTERY MAKING Traditional cookware is made with brown volcanic clays and then carefully dried. Learn about the process of tradtional pottery making and try your hand at crafting your own piece!

Red Rocks Wooden BikingThe wooden bike was invented to move all types of goods from farms and homesteads to the market. Try bikng into town, where you can buy some local goods at the market.

HANDICRAFT CENTER & Art WITH ZULUThe Red Rocks art center showcases a variety of beautiful handcrafted jewelry, baskets, pottery and bags made by local women, and 100% of the profi t goes directly to their cooperatives. After checking out the community shop, join our local artist, Zulu, for a chance to create your own art.

Movie Night at RED ROCKSEvery Friday night is movie night at Red Rocks Rwanda! You are welcome to share your favorite movies with the rest of the campers, or choose one from our selection to play outside on our projector screen.

Outdoor Activities

Twin Lakes TourLakes Burera & Ruhondo are twin lakes located adjacent to active volcanoes. The tour includes a boat ride and a visit with one of the island communities which boasts fantastic views of the volcanoes. Camping on an island can also be arranged!

Mountain Hike to RugalikaThis hike departs from Red Rocks and takes you through fi elds and villages up to a school on top of Mount Rugalika. If time permits and you would like to extend your hike, continue your walk up to Kabere Health Centre. Lunch provided.

BOTANICAL GARDEN & Beekeeping TourThis fi eld tour will introduce you to the traditional herbs and plants used to cure different ailments. Learn about the history of the people and how they live at one with the forest and the gorillas.

Tree Planting PROJECTBe a part of the Red Rocks Rwanda conservation program by helping locals plant trees and combat deforestation. Our goal is to plant a minimum of 500 trees each year to help protect the fragile local ecology and conserve scarce resources.
