July 2015 Hello families and students! My name is Cara Lutes, and I will be the student teacher in Mrs. Huff’s kindergarten classroom. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you. Parents and guardians, thank you for partnering with Irving to promote your child’s development. Students, I am excited to learn from, teach, grow with, support, and affirm each of you! I am a student teacher from Drake University, majoring in elementary education with endorsements in Early Childhood, Reading, English Language Learning (ELL), middle school, and coaching. I will begin with the students on July 13 th , and my last day will be August 28 th . I enjoy the outdoors, reading, board games, cooking, and time with friends and family. When I was a kindergartener, a few of my favorite books were Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and the Berenstain Bears series. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, introductions, or book recommendations before or throughout my student teaching placement.
