July 2015 Hello families and students! My name is Cara Lutes, and I will be the student teacher in Mrs. Huff’s kindergarten classroom. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you. Parents and guardians, thank you for partnering with Irving to promote your child’s development. Students, I am excited to learn from, teach, grow with, support, and affirm each of you! I am a student teacher from Drake University, majoring in elementary education with endorsements in Early Childhood, Reading, English Language Learning (ELL), middle school, and coaching. I will begin with the students on July 13th, and my last day will be August 28th. I enjoy the outdoors, reading, board games, cooking, and time with friends and family. When I was a kindergartener, a few of my favorite books were Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and the Berenstain Bears series.
