fan favorites why focusing on the good matters

It can be easy to focus on what’s going wrong. (We see you, 2020.) But what if we shifted our focus to what’s going well? From the super small stuff to the major
moments, sparking feelings of gratitude all year long (not just in November) can have countless benefits on our weight and wellness journeys—and our overall mental health. The more we intentionally pause to notice what’s going well,
the more it becomes an automatic habit, ultimately helping us keep the big picture in mind.
WHAT TO DO
Take five minutes to practice 3 Good Things.
November 22–28, 2020

What are your 3 Good Things for today? Let us know in your Connect Studio group!
Weekly series
Think about three good things that happened today.
Maybe you heard your favorite song on the radio (small) or got
promoted (big).
Write those things down in detail—where
were you, who were you with, what were
you wearing? This will help you anchor it in
your mind.
How did you feel when that good thing
happened? Note how you felt then and how
you feel now reminiscing about it.

1
2 lb Brussels sprouts, tough ends trimmed
¼ lb reduced-fat cen-ter-cut bacon, finely diced
¼ cup apple-cider vinegar 3 tbsp Dijon mustard 1 tsp black pepper 1 pinch salt (or to taste;
optional)
1. Thinly slice Brussels sprouts with a sharp knife or with a mandoline. (If you’re using a knife, cut each sprout in half, then lay it flat side down on cutting board so it doesn’t wobble as you’re cutting it into thin slices.) Transfer shredded sprouts to a large bowl.
2. In large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook bacon, stirring occasionally, until crisp, about 10 minutes. Re-move from heat; stir vinegar, mustard, and black pepper into pan. Pour bacon dressing over sprouts; stir to com-bine. Season with salt (if using, this will vary depending on the saltiness of your bacon); serve immediately.
