16. That’s the number of inflatable boards available from Fanatic. Whether you want to race, surf, tour, or simply

paddle, there’s a Fanatic SUP Inflatable for you. And guess what? They’re stiffer, more responsive, and better than

ever. Fanatic’s exclusive Double Layer Technology means you’ll barely be able to tell the difference between an

inflatable and a traditional board.

Using a lightweight robust wood and glass fibre con-struction gives a very high strength to weight ratio. In combination with some extra glass reinforcements to absorb high forces we offer you a very durable layup,

with light weight and unique wooden deck optic.

High resistance composite technology – an optimum weight and durable construction for everyday use.

A thick, durable outer skin gives the board hull a high strength, ding and impact resistance. Strategic use of

glass reinforcements ensures an adequate stiffness. Used on the ProWave HRS, AllWave HRS, Ray, Fly HRS,

Falcon HRS as well as on the Ripper with a kids-friendly EVA deck.

Riding a board is simple – but building the perfect board is not. Fanatic brings decades of board-building knowledge and experience to every board that bears our name, as we work to combine inanimate objects like wood, glass, foam and resin into something that comes alive under your feet. You

may think it’s art, or you may think it’s science – we think it’s a little bit of both.

To play in the ocean, we have to take care of it. That’s why every Fanatic board proudly dis-plays the Fanatic Ocean Minded Logo. It’s our promise to build our boards with a cleaner, greener environment in mind. In 2013, we became one of the few brands to use ecologi-cally-friendly cork in our boards, and will continue to do so in 2014. While much of the board-building industry still relies on toxic, harmful processes to build boards, Fanatic does everything it can to offset our carbon footprint. We’re also using ethically-sourced and sus-tainable raw materials whenever possible – for both the health of the planet and its people. This never-ending mission to improve our processes and products will have us constantly tweaking and tuning our construction techniques, packaging materials, and distribution methods – all for a better Fanatic future.

CAD ShAping – Computer-Aided Design

While many great shapers built boards by hand for years, in the modern era, CAD shaping lets board builders achieve an unprecedented level of precision. That’s not the only bonus. Every board Fanatic built since 2004 is stored in a digital database which permits evolu-tion, instead of recreation. With a decade of CAD shaping experience under his belt, there’s no question Fanatic shaper and designer Sebastian Wenzel is one of the leading experts on computer-aided board design. His decades of board-building knowledge are distilled into each and every board that Fanatic builds. As Fanatic continues to build a library of facts and figures, successful shapes and proven rocker lines, volume flows and rail lines, our Stand Up Paddleboards keep getting better and better. The proof is in the paddle – Fanatic CAD shap-ing techniques work.

For our ProWave range, it’s not about the glide – it’s about the ride. Pure surfing shapes designed for high-performance wave-riding, the ProWave collection is what Shortboard-

style SUP surfing is all about. The well-regarded shapes in 8´0˝, 8´5˝, 8´10˝ and 9´3˝ remain unchanged for 2014, while we added two new shapes – the 9´6˝, to accommodate larger

riders, and the 9´10˝ Semi Gun, offering the speed needed to catch truly giant surf.

The 9´6˝ retains the same shaping characteristics as the smaller boards in the line-up, but offering slightly more width and plenty more float at 153 liters of volume. The 9´10˝ Semi Gun is a slightly stretched version of the 9´9˝ Semi Gun, the first SUP to conquer the

monstrous surf of Shipstern’s Bluff in Tasmania.

Set up as a Quad or a Thruster (2+1) these SUPs feel more like real Shortboard Surfboards than anything else. But balanced volume distribution and flat decks help them paddle eas-ily and catch waves effortlessly. On the wave face, they make the most radical maneuvers

effortless, whether it’s a hard-carving bottom turn or laid-out cutback. The ProWave – make every wave epic. Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option.

Simple surfing – that’s what the AllWave is built to do. The AllWave range comes in 5 sizes – 8´6˝ / 8´11˝ / 9´1˝ / 9´5˝ / 9´10˝. Easy, accessible and fun, the AllWave is called the »Big Boy’s« performance board, however will also take SUP boardsurfers on to their first waves and let them progress into larger surf. Based on the successful design of the first AllWaves, for 2014 we have updated the range with 3 new shapes – 8´11˝ / 9´1˝ / 9´5˝ – offering pad-dlers even more options for catching waves. These new shapes maintain the AllWave’s friendly accessibility while offering excellent maneuverability on the wave. The slightly wider-around-the-center outline, combined with a more pulled-in nose and a rounded squash tail offers plenty of stability, adding performance with less swing weight. The

windsurf mast base insert lets you easily attach a sail for fun on flat water or in the surf. A true surfing scoop rocker line and added nose kick finish out the AllWave’s performance

characteristics. Surf with confidence on the AllWave.

From first waves to tackling big surf, the Fly 10´0˝ is the perfect board for lighter to middleweight riders. The classic pintail shape offers turning ability and speed, while the lower-entry rocker helps the Fly catch every wave you want.

Plenty of V in the tail lets this ten-footer maneuver like a much smaller board. Set up the Fly for optimum performance in any water condition using the tri-fin cluster. The 10´0˝ features a deluxe deck pad and is available in a lightweight, high-performance Wood Edition, as well as the HRS and standard Pure constructions. Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option.

F l y 1 0 ’ 6 ”

If your spot typically serves up highly variable conditions, or you’re a heavier rider who needs more support and stability, the timeless shape of the 10´6˝ will meet all your needs. Sharper edges on the tails with soft rails toward the front lets the board grip and carve, yet maintain the glide of a classic shape. Flatter nose rocker and more pronounced curve in the tail offers easy paddling and turning ability. The flat deck and wide volume distribution makes the Fly 10´6˝ stable with plenty of float. Choose the lightweight Wood Edition for high performance, or select the HRS and standard Pure

constructions for a great board that can be shared with family and friends who are just getting into SUP. Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option.

F l y 1 1 ’ 0 ”

A true do-it-all board that offers plenty of glide in a compact, balanced design, the Fly 11´0˝ defines versatility. The surfing rocker line cruises into waves early, while the pronounced V and pintail offer carving sensations off the back foot.

Suitable for both lightweight or heavier beginner paddlers. Bearing the same shape characteristics as the 10´6˝, it offers stability and floatation. The Fly 11´0˝ is available in High Resistance Skin and our Pure constructions. Mastfoot insert for

windsurfing option.

SUP or sail? Open the doors to the worlds of both Windsurfing and SUP for beginners starting the journey of a lifetime. Easy from the get-go for any size and style of rider, the 11´6˝ Fly makes glassy or breezy days both an adventure in a super durable package. The CAD designed shape features a genuine surfing rocker line that catches waves easily and

gives balance and stability for any use. Ride the Fly 11´6˝ as either a Windsurfing / SUP combo, with sealable center fin for upwind ability, or as a standalone SUP shape without the center fin. Both models are available in High Resistance Skin

(HRS) or our Pure construction. SUP, sail, and simply go for a ride. Mastfoot insert for windsurfing option.

The Ray – the perfect blend of Cruiser and Raceboard, offering accessible speeds to everyday paddlers and experts alike. Designed to be effortless under paddle, the Ray is all about glide –

step on board and you’ll see what we mean. Parallel rails maximize efficiency in the water, letting you trim the Ray to go fast. With a strong nod to our race series, the smooth curves combined

with a continuous nose-to-tail rocker release water smoothly, and leave your paddle stroke without a hitch.

A sharp bow cuts through the water and the pulled-up profile prevents nose diving and wash over your feet. The flat-angled deck shape and thicker, fuller volume rails are forgiving for a dry and stable ride. To give you the freedom of adventure cruising we’ve also attached net-fixing inserts for carrying extra equipment. The Ray comes in two sizes to suit any size or style rider, male or

female – the 11´0˝ in super-tough High Resistance Skin (HRS) or 12´0˝ in either HRS, or the HRS BVI LTD Edition to commemorate Fanatic’s sponsorship of the Hiho Virgin Islands event. All models come with one fin – the super-light US Box 9.75˝ ONE RaceAce fin. Go anywhere, ride

For anyone who enjoys stand alone products, this is their board! The shape is identical to our bestseller Fly Race All-round Raceboard 12´6˝ × 30.5˝, the construction is inspired by the legendary and famous speedboats of Boesch / Riva. We built the Fly 12´6˝ in a clear vision technology based on three different wood types. In the bottom we used un-

bleached bamboo, the rails were finished with dark colored wedge and the deck is made with a high density resistant

version of ash wood.

From marathon to morning glide, this Allround Raceboard covers lakes or open ocean and can even be ridden in surf. The long waterline means less effort and more momentum.

Our CAD analyzed curve flow forms a smooth tail rocker release for paddle motion that allows gentle surfing as well.

A domed nose with water-cutting bow and flat-angled deck shape disperses chop and releases water easily for

maximum speed.

The new Falcon Race is quite simply built for speed. The same board that has taken World Champions Angela Jackson, Olivia Piana and Chase Kosterlitz across the finish line can fly under your feet. With a revolutionary bow shape and

adjusted scoop line, the Falcon Race is faster and more stable than ever before.

With a SUP race scene that’s experienced exponential world-wide growth over the last few years, Fanatic has concen-trated vast effort into tuning four new race shapes, as well as the two proven 30˝ shapes. Testing was conducted all over the world – from Australia, to Florida, to Maui, to ensure these boards work as well in choppy ocean swell as they do in

flat water. Special attention was made to ensure simple, easy foot steering in cross-wind and chop. The rails were designed with a unique goal in mind: to offer stability high on the rail, but reduce wetted surface at the bottom once paddling. The board truly lifts out of the water as you pick up speed, giving you that extra bit of glide to accelerate down the face, up

and over the front of the next wave.

The cutting bow has been eliminated, the nose outline was integrated into the new design and is quite a bit wider now. The new bow design ensures that the nose never catches or develops any self-steering. Added volume prevents the board

from pearling so it always stays above the water.

The 2014 Falcon performs in flat water to chop to downwind runners. So all you need to do is match your body weight to the appropriate width Falcon.

N o t E : New Flatwater Raceboards will be coming late 2013 – stay tuned!

The Fly Air is a fun allround board, and it’s so easy to transport, straight into the boot of the car! Plus the Fly Air is quite handy for the beginners too, as it’s softer than a normal board in case they fall whilst learning. Last but not least the Fly Air Race edition is also awesome for racing. I had good fun at the Abu Dhabi World Cup last April and won the race with the 12´6˝ × 26.5˝. Got small waves? It’s time to blow up. The Fly Air offers real surf action for any rider. Inspired by our outstanding Fly range of traditional SUP boards, the Fly Air features a stretched Longboard-style outline combined with lots of volume. This translates into plenty of easy glide, yet enough width to offer a truly stable ride. With a width of 31˝

for the Fly Air 9´0˝, evolving up to 34˝ inches of width for the new Fly Air 10´8˝, this is a board that can go toe to toe with any board on the market in terms of stability.

Whether it’s catching waves or exploring flat water, there is a Fly Air that’s a perfect fit for you. The smaller sizes have customizable fin options to help you rip up swell or simply improve maneuverability. For 2014, we’ll also introduce two new sizes – the 10´8˝ Fly Air, with 245 liters of volume to guarantee stability for even the most novice paddler, and the

10´0˝ Fly Air to bridge the gap between 9´0˝ and 10´6˝.

The Fly Air is available in both single-wall Stringer Construction and Premium Edition Double Layer Technology. Indestructible, light and forgiving – the Fly Air is the ultimate

inflatable F unboard.

Want to race – but don’t want the hassle of a hauling around fourteen feet of rigid board? You need the Fanatic Fly Air Race. In both full-size 14´0˝ and BOP-ready 12´6˝, the

Fanatic Fly Air Race Inflatables are among the first race-ready inflatable boards on the market today. To make sure you´re on the perfect race board for you, both the 12´6˝ and

the 14´0˝ are available in two different volumes, (274 and 300 liters for the 12´6˝, 314 and 345 liters for the 14´0˝) for a total of four boards ready to paddle to the first place at the

finish line.

These stealthy speedsters offer competitive performance around the buoys. The reduced width – 26.5˝ for the 12´6˝ board and 29˝ for the 14´0˝ – helps provide maximum speed on

the racecourse. But don´t worry – stability is not a problem.

All Raceboards feature a molded-in US-box for the fin. Pre-bent bottom curves are adjusted to account for the weight of the rider, and ensure the board sits perfectly in the water, offering a race-ready ride that’s efficient and fast. Weight is reduced via the high

tech 0.4 mm second layer in our new Double Layer Technology. When you want to cause a scene at the start line, take it to the air.

SUP is about freedom. Now, you can be free to take your SUP wherever you want to go. In the trunk of your car, or stored below deck on the boat, Fanatic SUP Inflatables are built to offer fun and convenience. With the increasing demand for boards that are easy to transport and don’t take a lot of space to store, Fanatic has increased its Inflatable range to cover every aspect of Stand Up Paddling. Whether it’s the highly surfable 9´0˝ Fly Air or the 14´0˝ Fly Air Race, Fanatic makes an Inflatable that’s ready for whatever kind of paddling you want to do.

While early inflatable Stand Up Paddle boards had a reputation for offering a less-than-premium experience, new technology combined with a higher quality of the raw materials available for Inflatables has improved the ride significantly. Our Double Layer Technologies have made the inflatable SUP ride barely distinguishable from traditionally built boards for today’s recreational rider. With a backpack and pump included in the package, you’ll have everything you need to grab a SUP session – wherever you are. It’s the convenience you’ve always dreamed of, paired with the performance an accom-plished Stand Up Paddlers has come to expect.

The material used for the Fly Air is a durable Tarpaulin PVC. On the inside of the Fly Air thousands of nylon threads connect the deck with the bottom of the board to keep it in a functional and performing shape.

Utilizing the best drop-stitch material available on the market, the newly developed Stringer Technology pro-

vides a perfect ratio of durability, weight and price.

Simply put, this is the best technology available on the market. The highly durable 2nd layer material allows

the boards to be inflated to an air pressure of more than 20 PSI – without compromising any materials. A stiff, responsive, high-performance ride that does what you

want.

You’re only as fast as your weakest link – and with the new re-worked Fanatic paddle range, we can guarantee that link won’t be in your hands. Fanatic has taken the care and precision that go into building each Fanatic board and designed a paddle that’s strong and light, with the perfect

amount of flex to deliver maximum power while allowing you to paddle in total comfort. Grab a Fanatic and take a stroke.

F a n a t i c u n i o n P a D D l e

In the past, all paddle flex patterns were made up of two parts. The blade and the shaft! These two flexible parts were interrupted by an oversized stiff joint where paddle and shaft were

connected. The new 2014 Fanatic Union paddle has redesigned the connection between blade and shaft to give a unified flex pattern from the tip of the blade right through to the shaft.

The new Union blade has moved the connection joint further up the shaft and tapers into a RDM joint with the shaft. The resulting constant flex gives an unmatched spring and response out of

every paddle stroke. From the moment the tip of the blade catches the water your energy is being converted into forward drive. The new Union paddle is available in two sizes and three construc-

tion styles making it easy to choose a paddle to match your performance and budget.

Epic shapes from a classic shaper. Produced in partnership with Aussie legend Bruce McKee, Fanatic offers up five sleek-looking Short- and Longboard styles suiting a range of abilities – all backed-up by Fanatic’s superior heritage in

epoxy windsurfing construction, including super stiff and light bamboo epoxy and high-grade biaxial lay-ups.

a B o u t B R u c e m c k e e

Fabled Aussie shaper Bruce McKee, now back home in Sydney after over 20 years in Europe, has teamed up with Fanatic to work on innovative Surfboard shapes and construction. McKee, also an active windsurfer, has shaped every-

thing from Catamarans to Waterskis, Longboards and Guns, not to mention every type of Shortboard. Bruce has supplied many shapers with his M4 Quattro Quad and M5 Multisystem concept systems. Bruce has crafted boards for many top pros of the WCT & WQS tours. He regularly shaped for Sunny Garcia and achieved success with riders such as Kaipo Jaquias, the iconic late Andy Irons, and a long list of past and present competitors. With an exceptional eye for details

and high-tech molding experience he’s the perfect partner for Fanatic’s cutting-edge epoxy standards.

t h e m c k e e m 5 m u l t i s y s t e m

McKee has been a quad fin advocate since late 1981 and his performance board ›M5 Multisystem Formula‹ is even used by the world’s greatest-ever surfer. The name M5 was meant to represent the McKee five location positioning whereas the M4 was for a pure Quad or ›Quattro‹ – named after the famous high-traction Audi car model. With the McKee M5 Multisystem, this year’s McKee/Fanatic range offers a great expansion of the capabilities of your board and the potential of your surfing performance.

P o l y e s t e R B o a R D s

Last season, we introduced a Polyester board range with the same dimensions as the EPS Bamboo collection. The Polyester boards are ideal for those that prefer traditional constructions and feel when riding. Polyester boards give a crisp feel and are

used by the world’s best riders. Whatever your preference of surf-board style and construction, we trust you will be excited with this season’s range.

The Firefly is new for this year’s collection. There has been a tendency for the latest competition shapes to go shorter and wider and with the refinement of bottom concaves, rockers and advanced rail shapes. These new designs are very stable without feeling wide. They make the average surfer feel like a pro. The Firefly contains a mid rocker with single to double concave bottom. For versatility, the new ›Firefly‹ uses the Quad / Thruster Multisystem.

This is a board that flies in the mush and small waves – a great board if that’s the only type of surf you have access to. The Diamond has volume and width to link dead sections with ease. The rail line has just the right amount of curve to balance be-tween drive and release for the perfect performance mush board. For versatility, the Diamond Tail uses the Quad / Thruster Multifin system.

The 9´1˝ Longboard has been fine tuned to give the board a lively response and added control when the surf gets more serious. This season’s 9´1˝ has the Longboard Fin Multisys-tem, developed long ago by McKee to solve Quad-fin cluster placement issues on Longboards. The Multisystem also allows the usual Tri-Fin and single fin combinations plus a variety of others.

Mini-Mals for 2014 have an ample width and flotation for great stability and smooth pad-dling. The Polyester versions have the trusted ›Thruster‹ fin set-up and the Bamboo EPS models have the Quad /Thruster Multisystem.

P e R F o R m a n c e v o l u m e Wing attacK 6’8”, 7’2”

A classic performance design for big guys who totally rip. With a double wing swal-low tail, Quad / Thruster Multisystem and volume in all the right places, this will end up being a favorite board for larger, more powerful riders. It’s also a great board for lighter riders searching for easy paddling and wave-catching ability from a great looking and top-performing board. Throw in the added bite from the swallow tail and this long-awaited design is the ultimate ›Wing Attack‹.

Fast and floaty convertible Thruster / Quad fun in slop or fast surf. A board to keep you smiling no matter what the conditions are. With ample width and volume, the Fun Egg is a weekend warrior’s wave-catcher, that fits into any type of surf and loves to keep on trucking when the waves are lacking grunt. 2014 models now incorporate the Quad /Thruster Multisystem.

Due to the success of the compact wave Diamond Tail model, we have included a couple of new sizes in the small wave section. These boards have a ›retro‹ type pinched rail that leaves a flatter, boxier deck shape. These boards are proportionally wider and thicker than the Compact Wave Dia-monds, giving even more lift and travel in the weakest waves. For versatility, the Diamond Tail uses the Quad /Thruster Multifin system.

e a s y P a D D l e R P e R F o R m a n c e Moonshine 6’1”, 6’4" This new design is a lover of hollow waves, late drops and big turns. Fine tuned on Queensland’s point-breaks such as Rain-bow Bay, Currumbin Alley and Burleigh Heads, this design will bring spark back to the surfer that finds their existing equipment was not in tune with what their current state of mind and body really need. This board flies onto waves early with its nose area; but also loves a fully buried rail turn after a late drop. For versatility, the ›Moonshine‹ uses the Quad / Thruster Multifin system.
