1.0. INTRODUCTION
1.1 The Fans commissioning work shall be taken up after completion of installation, ,associated ductwork and necessary electrical cabling works.
1.2 The fansshall be tested for various performance parameters such as air flow, static
pressure, noise vibration etc.,
1.3 Operation of the starters through BMS system shall alsotested.
1.4 The HRW units, Kitchen exhaust fan, Battery exhaust fan, Pantry exhaust are also be
tested in similar fashion.
1.5 All instruments, documents, tools, tackles, ladders, access platforms, personnel,required for the purpose of testing are to bemade available by the vendor.

2.0. INSTRUMENTS AND DOCUMENTS
2.1 Documents:
a. Fan design details such as air quantity, static pressure.
b. GA drawing of Fans.
c. Floor plan showing the fan installation location with clearances etc.,
d. Power and control wiring diagrams of starters.
e. Preliminary checks to be carried out by vendor as per enclosed format.
f. Commissioning report test sheets as per enclosed formats with details such as
Fan ID, Design data duly filled up.
2.2 Instruments &Equipments Required:
a. Multimeter, Clamp on meter.b. Digital Thermometer, Sling Psychrometer.
c. Vane type anemometer, Pitot tube connected to a digital display directly
displaying velocity and Static pressure measuring probe.
d. Digital tachometer, preferably non-contact type.
e. Sound Level meter, Vibration meter.
f. Set of pre-commissioning filters..
g. Other tools and tackles required for commissioning as prescribed by the
manufacturer.
2.3 All devices shall have a calibration certificatesat the date of test.

3.0. METHODOLOGY
3.1 The Fans have to be commissioned after completion of installation, necessary ducting
connections, electrical work and pre-commissioning checks.
3.2 Pre-Commissioning checks included:
a. Checking that the Fan is installed as per the room layout.
b. The Fan has been fitted out with pre-commissioning filters(if required).
c. Ductwork with outlet damper and flexible connections is completed.
d. Pulley diameters are as per design.
e. Motor and fan blower rotate freely without touching any unintended surfaces.
f. All clearances for accessing the filters, motors, damperselectrical panels exist as
per manufacturers recommendations.g. Starter panel with bypass is installed.
h. Over load current settings are made appropriately in the starter.
i. Cabling and earthing for the motor, bulkhead lamp, control wiring for door limit
switch is completed(for cabinet type fans).
3.3 Carryout insulation resistance test on the motor and cable.
3.4 Verify the operation of the door limit switch, bulkhead lamp.
3.5 Verify the fan motor and fan blower rotate freely without touching any other surfaces.
3.6 After verifying the incoming voltage,kick start the motor with the belts removed. Verify
the motor rotation direction. Note down the motor current drawn.
3.7 Fix the belts, inspect its tightness and then re-start the fan with the outlet damper open to
50%. Observ for any abnormal noise or vibration.
3.8 Gradually open the outlet damper while ensuring that the motor current does not exceed
the rated full load current.
3.9 Review the recorded parameters critically and lookout if there are any abnormalities in
the parameters observed.
3.10 All exhaust and fresh air fans would be tested in a similar fashion with applicable tests
and parameters.
3.11 While testing the HRW unit, air DBT and WBT were be measured at fresh air in&out,
exhaust air in&out. These readings would be verified with the HRW performance
curves/software.
