A BIG THANK YOU TO SCOTT ABRAMS and GREG BEAUBIEN
FOR COMPILING THE STATS.
It goes without saying, but we’re going to say it anyway – Fantasy Camp would not be the same, or even possible, without the contributions and hard work of a large team of people and we want to extend special thanks to them all: Tony Migliaccio and the Clubhouse Staff work very hard to get everything in order to begin Camp, but also every day by making sure uniforms and countless other needs are addressed for the next day’s play; Pax and the Athletic Training Staff for tending to physical needs, great and small, throughout Camp; Jodie and Elmer Baacke of ELJO Travel for making travel arrangements and getting us all here for the best week ever, as well as all the planning and handling every other logistical need or issue that arises; and of course Bill and Kate Schroeder for offering such a great experience and always striving to make it just a bit better each year!
Last, but certainly not least, come the coaches who really make the Fantasy come to life. Whether through one to one instruction on the fundamentals of baseball or hanging out in the clubhouse before and after games, all those interactions add up to one major league experience. We thank you for all the timeless stories of your playing days, music on the bus ride to get the day started, Q&A candor and thoughts shared on the current state of our beloved Milwaukee Brewers and baseball in general. Thank you for realizing that the people who come here are all in search of just a tiny slice of the life your talent allowed you to live for real. Most of all, thank you Glenn, Greg, Coop, Tiny, Gumby, Teddy, Juan, Jim, Treb, Charlie, Billy Jo, Augie, and Bill for loving baseball so much and wanting to share that with all of us.
Thank you!

Hank and Tommie Aaron, B.J. and Justin Upton, and Ken and George Brett. What do they all have in common? Obviously, they all played in the Majors. Many families share a love of sports, but there is just something special about baseball in particular that brings people together. It’s impossible to adequately explain to someone who has never expe-rienced Fantasy Camp what an extraor-dinary bonding experience it is among strangers...just imagine sharing it with someone you love.

hottest team at camp: The California Quakers. Saturday’s slate of games pits the California Quakers vs. the Latin Connection in the fifth place game; Buy a Vowel vs. Afternoon Delights playing for third place game; and Gets Some will take on Catch-22 for the Fantasy Camp title. Congratulations to all teams for a great season. Remember, Fantasy Camp isn’t only about winning -- it’s about having an experience that’ll live with you for a lifetime, and it really doesn’t get much better than this.
The California Quakers are undefeated...on Friday The epicenter of the strong tremor felt around Maryvale yesterday was not an earthquake. It was coaches Mike Felder and Glenn Braggs along with the rest of the California Quakers celebrating after securing their first win at Fantasy Camp. The Quakers, who could smell victory numerous times this week only to come up short, beat the Afternoon Delights 9-5 in their morning game, and finally savored the sweet taste of victory...courtesy of Miller products in the clubhouse. This isn’t to say it came easy. Things didn’t start well for the Quakers as they gave up two runs to the Afternoon Delights in the top of the first, highlighted by a 2-run double by Dave Pangallo. The Quakers didn’t seem phased by the early 2-run deficit, though. In their half of the first, they busted out for five runs on three hits, three runs coming off a triple by Robert Garvin, to take a 5-2 lead after one inning. But the lead was short-lived, as the Delights’ Don Quiñones drove in two with a triple of his own to knot the game at five apiece.
The Quakers were then held scoreless until the sixth inning when they broke the game wide open with four runs on two hits. Scott Foulke had two of the four runs without leaving the batters box. Foulke drove in a run on a bases loaded walk, and another when he was hit by a pitch. The Quakers didn’t allow any runs for the rest of the game, and began to shake the ground after the Delights’ Lanny Schimmel made the final out. In other action, all Catch-22 needed to do was win one of their last two games to secure a spot in the Championship game against Gets Some, and they did just that by defeating the Latin Connection 7-6, in their afternoon match-up. Buy a Vowel and Afternoon Delight each ended the season with identical 4-4 records, but Buy a Vowel earned third place in the standings based on having a better morning game record (2-2) than the Delights’ (1-3) tally. Gets Some’s dream of an undefeated regular season came to an end after losing 7-5 in the afternoon game to the
