Channel participated in the an­nual June Festival on Wednes­day, Juno 11. The festival took place in the school playground and was witnessed by a fine turn­out of parents.

The kindergarten c h i l d r e n danced the "Children's Polka" and "Chimes of Dunkirk", The first and second year children presented the "Paw Paw Patch" and "Hansel and Gretel". They also sang "Thi,<* is My Father's World" and "God Bless Amer­ica".

Pupils in the third year class presented "Yankee Doodle", with the third and fourth year chil­dren participating l,ry the "May Day Pole Dance *. The fifth year pupils presented "Maskrosor and Kalvelis."

Children in the sixth year grade who will be entering P.S. 1015, until the new Junior High School at Seaside is completed, received their class pins from the Parent Teachers' Association I,n the group were Robert Barr, Matthew Bross, John English, Dennis Nelson, Michael Rowen, Dennis Schaefer, William Stew­art, Ann Arrigali, Diana Boro­din, Marion Christie, Charlotte Keehner, Sherry Lee, Carol Mur­phy, Lynn Polacke, Diane Roth, Maureen Smith, Janet Suydam and Victoria Zaczkiewicss.

The Wave learned this week that the ambulance service insti­tuted by the Broad Channel Vol­unteers several months ago, fol­lowing the presentation of ambu­lance to the Volunteers by Judge J. Irwtar Shapiro, of Far Rocka way, has been put to good use these past few months.

Matthew Conklin, who had served as president of the Broad Channel Volunteers since last August, relinquished his post re­cently and was replaced by Ger­ard B. Bourke, a captain with the Volunteers.

Miss Carol Whitaker, formerly of 210 East 9th road, attended her graduation prom held at West Babylon, Saturday, with her fiance, William Tremont. Commencement exercises to take place on June 23.
