EASY, PRECISE PROGRAMMING All of the complexities are hidden from the
operator. To add a bevel of 1, 2, or 3 passes,
there is only the need to fill out the bevel form.
The programmer nests the annotated CAM files,
which look identical to the DXF but contain the
additional bevel information. Additional
problems like colliding bevels are fully accom-
modated with true shape nesting functions.
The technology is totally NC independent which
means that engineers can also be offered the
ability to apply the weld prep to their DXF parts
prior to production (using our FastCAM® 3D
Bevel Editor, available as a separate program).

FastCAM® 3D BEVEL
CNC PRECISE WELD PREPARATION
Finally, an easy-to-use NC system for industrial profile cutting that includes
automated weld preparation! We use the term 3-pass to distinguish it from perhaps
30 years of angle cutting without regard to root gap or the land. Our solution covers
the entire geometry of the joint.
Plate Edge preparation can now be done simply and easily off-line. Even complex
components can be quickly created with all weld detail in place. The integrated
nesting system preserves this detail no matter how the part is moved on the plate.
It’s so simple; select the part and add the required weld detail to any section.
Program a single edge or a complete contour. Top, Bottom, angle, land, root gap, all
can be defined simply and quickly, once nested processing is completely automatic.
