Education is a process of human enlightenment and empowerment for the achievement of a better and higher quality
of life. With an ever increasing demand for a large number of teachers, teacher training colleges have greater
responsibility to deliver quality Teachers to serve the society. Teachers are the torchbearer in creating social cohesion,
national integration and a learning society. They not only disseminate knowledge but also create and generate new
knowledge. They are responsible for acculturating the role of education. This demands more scope for creative
learning within the college which is vital for modern Educational system.

Principal's Message
“Education is drawing out the best in man - mind, soul and spirit, it implies the development of the 3'H's Head, Heart
and Hand. The main function of education is to guard the social heritage and educational values. For this the
educators should carry out their ethical responsibilities. Therefore Teacher Education courses should aim at training
of the body, mind and spirit."
Teachers role in the new millennium has become multifaceted and challenging. Teachers are nation builders. You
will need to cultivate social, moral and spiritual values in children. Your role as facilitators for social transformation
will require you to develop in children nationalism and internationalism; prepare them to be global citizens; develop
in them self learning skills and ICT skills and develop in them high emotional and spiritual quotient.
Keeping in view these factors, our college aim is to develop the spirit of an individual to take the real world issues and
the potential to transform them into teachers of tomorrow. Our Endeavour is not only to make them good teachers but
also to make them better individuals and citizens, thereby sharing the responsibilities of building strong pillars of the
nation.

Fatma Teachers' Training College
Fatma Teachers' Training College was the dream of Late Janab Shafique Ahmad, a visionary social worker
and a legendary personality, which was fulfilled later by his son Sharique Nadeem in the year 2008.
Fatma teachers' Training College (FTTC) is recognized by ERC, National Council for Teacher Education
(NCTE). Bhubaneswar and affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi & Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). It
is being managed by “Fatma Educational & Welfare Trust”, Ranchi, bearing registration No.
17698/2092/2008.
The objective behind establishing FTTC is to prepare competent teachers with higher abilities to bring
qualitative change in the school education system. We have a solemn commitment to address ourselves
vigorously to the needs arising from dynamic and rapidly changing society. We believe in aligning ourselves
to the requirement of the new age teaching, conducting research, disseminating new knowledge and
developing applications of existing knowledge. We also believe in preparing lifelong learners who are able to
apply their knowledge, in a cross cultural and diverse society.
Campus and Infrastructure
Fatma Teachers' Training College during the last 6 Years has shown accelerated growth in infrastructure
and academics. It has an elegant building which includes well equipped science lab, language lab and
psychology lab other than resource rooms, faculty rooms, conference room, seminar room and
administrative office. The college has newly introduced Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
section along with computer lab to arrange smart classes. There is a rich library containing more than 5000
books with specious reading space and furniture. To meet the student's aspiration, the college has introduced
recreation room well equipped with sports materials, canteen and medical facilities within the premises. The
college has a picturesque look surrounded with beautiful trees and grass ground. The conditions are well set
and appropriate for an institution like FTTC; where future ready teachers are built for the country to take the
challenges of the new generation.
Location
The college is located in a peaceful area called Chandway , on way to Ranchi science centre, approachable
from Morabadi (way to Tagore Hill), at a distance of 12 K.M. from Karamtoli chowk and 15 K.M. from Albert
Ekka (Firayalal) chowk, Ranchi. It could also be reached from the National Highway (NH33) near BIT More,
Mesra Ranchi, which leads straight to Chandway Chowk at Dubaliya.

VISION & MISSION
Under Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India and as per the agreed document of the board of trustees of the college,
the college is an imperative need for a large number of untrained graduate and intermediate youths of this region.
There is a huge demand for trained teachers in the region and it is therefore, felt important to prepare new generation
teachers to shape 21st Century schools and students. The objective is to create teachers with difference as role model in
the society to face the new challenges coming in the classroom teaching learning methodologies and knowledge
construction. In this changing global scenario, Jharkhand has its own take and we with best of our abilities can bring
brilliance in education delivery system. We could be catalytic in making a model state once we ensure educational

Library-Cum-Reading Room
To encourage and develop the habit of reading, a well equipped library has been established with extensive collection
of books, from varied fields which include text and reference books, leading journals and magazines, teacher
education manuals, guidebooks, case studies, government reports, documents, Encyclopedia Britannica and
National Geographic Journals, dictionaries, educational CDs and DVDs. The library is accessible for both students as
well as faculty members. It subscribes two international journals and nearly 30 periodicals including magazines and
newspapers. The library is constantly enriched and new material is added to keep abreast with latest changes and
advancements in the field of education. For the convenience of the readers, photocopying facility has also been
provided in the library premises.

Science and Mathematics Resource Centre
The college is adequately equipped with laboratory apparatus and models for experiments in subjects like Science and
Maths. This novel concept encourages student to sharpen their abilities in cognitive, affective and psycho motor
domains such as spirit of enquiry, creativity, objectivity, courage to question and aesthetic sensibility. It helps student
to acquire problem solving and decision making skills and to discover the relationship of Science and Maths in daily
life. Students would find working in these labs helpful to think, reason, analyze and articulate logically. National
Curriculum Framework 2005 published by NCERT, New Delhi has strongly recommended for providing opportunities
and encouraging students to do experiments so that they can correlate the everyday life with the scientific theories and
phenomena. Science cannot be taught without effectively testing, experimentation and demonstration of the
scientific facts. This lab cum resource centre is a place and means which helps to conduct all practical related
activities smoothly and effectively. It gives opportunity to students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and
facts to verify through different activities using materials, equipments and gadgets. These activities stimulate interest
among the students to get inclined towards Maths and Science subjects. The college organizes seminars and
discussions on many current topics related to the subject by inviting eminent educationist time to time.
Psychology Resource Centre
In any of study there should be a close integration of theory with practice. The College has a separate psychology
laboratory cum research centre which has sufficient apparatus, testing equipments, transparencies and teaching
learning materials for conducting psychology experiments as per B.Ed. and D.El.Ed Syllabus. Students are taught and
trained how to use the equipments to measure the intellectual levels etc. by looking at the personality and behavior of
their subject. During this process they also learn how to design the testing tools and administer them to acquire the
result. Modern days equipments like computers and software helps students to speed up the process of testing,
evaluating and analyzing with suitable graphs, diagrams etc.

Health and Physical Education Resource Centre
The college has well equipped health and physical resource centre. It provides ample opportunities for students to
indulge in indoor and outdoor sports activities. There is enough space within the college premises to organize various
sports activities including, volleyball, basket ball, football, hockey, cricket, kho-kho, badminton etc. There are games
available such as chess and carom board, which could be played in house. Students who have extra ordinary talent in
sports are trainer by our coaches on regular basis. These sports facilities are available for all the students of the college.
Students are encouraged to participate in the competitions organized by various organizations at the state as well as
national level. Our mission is to provide adequate resources to students to excel in sports by inculcating professional
competence and imbibing ethics of sportsmanship.
ICT Resource Centre
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have the potential to transform the nature of education, the
role of the teacher and the student learning process. Education systems around the world are under pressure to use
the digital technology to teach the students the knowledge and skills they need in the 21st century. With the emerging
digital technologies, the teaching profession is evolving from teacher-centered to student-centered and lecture-based
instruction to interactive learning environments. In order to take full advantage of digital technology in teaching
learning, the college has introduced the concept of smart classes connected to ICT resource centre to give ample
opportunity to new generation teachers to use these new tools effectively in education. Recently has renovated the state
of the art computer laboratory and added many dimensions to the resource centre by including digital cameras,
scanners, printers, LCD projection system, two way audio video conferences through internet etc. It has a fully
equipped and well furnished ICT lab cum resource centre with 25 personal computers of latest configurations. There
are enough seats for students to work on and a qualified technical resource person is made available to them to assist
in their projects.

Art & Craft Resource Centre
Jharkhand has traditionally a rich culture of art and crafts and the need to integrate it in the B.Ed. and D.El.Ed
course would retain the cultural identity in all its diversity and richness. A well equipped art & craft resource centre is
established within the college to encourage creative minds to come up with their original ideas either on canvas or in
any other form. Art education is being treated as an important area of B.Ed. and D.El.Ed curricular activity for all
round development of the students. The objective behind establishing the art & craft resource centre is to sensitize the
students so that they could learn to respond to the beauty in line, colour, form, movement and sound. It aims and
develops awareness and interest on wide variety of fine art, both at the classical and folk level so that the students
could be benefited by knowledge to become good performer. Craft is a productive process, a wonderful indigenous
technology that is far from outmoded. The raw materials are all indigenously available and environment friendly.
Craft is being taught both as a creative and aesthetic activity and as work.
Course Details
4 The Bachelor of Education program, generally known as B.Ed. is a professional course Bachelor of Education :-that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior
secondary level (classes XI-XII). The program shall be offered in composite institution.
Eligibility:- As per NCTE norms, a candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate at
B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. i.e. Bachelor Degree Examinations or Master Degree from any recognized university. A relaxation
of 5% is granted to the candidates belonging to reserved categories namely SC, ST,OBC & PH etc.
4 The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a two years Diploma in Elementary Education:-professional program of teacher education. It aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education. i.e.
classes I-VIII. The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning needs of all children in an inclusive
school environment bridging social and gender gaps with the active participation of the community.
Eligibility: - As per NCTE norms, a candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in the higher secondary (+2)
or its equivalent examination are eligible for admission. A relaxation of 5% is granted to the candidates belonging to
reserved categories namely SC, ST, OBC & PH etc.

Application forms should be either submitted at the college office/city office personally or send through postal mail. All
original certificates should be brought for verification by the candidate at the time of admission. Incomplete and late
application form or furnishing false information will be rejected without giving any information to the concerned
candidate. No correspondence will be entertained in this respect.

Transportation
The college has its own bus service from Kanta toil to College via- Sujata Chowck, Rajendra chowck, Main Road,
Firayalal, Karamtoli chowck, Tagore Hill, Boreya and return up to the same destination against payment.
However, some alternative arrangement with bus- owners could also be made if the number of students from
different location is high.

General Rules and Regulations
Keeping in view the aims and aspirations of Fatma Teachers' Training College, certain rules and
regulations have been framed to be strictly followed by trainees. These rules have been formulated not to
blind the trainees within the premises but to make them understand the Institutional values and
discipline, which followed meticulously by trainees, help them to emerge into a more determined,
matured and knowledge

1. Students shall strictly comply with the rules and regulations of the college issued from time to time relating to their studies,
examination and discipline.
2. The students, who secure admission on the basis of false certificate/marks sheet or on the basis of any misrepresentation of
facts or illegal means, shall be summarily cancelled and all fees paid by him/her shall be forfeited. Legal action shall also
be taken against them.
3. Selected Candidates are required to submit an affidavit on the format given by the college by a Notary Public stating that
all information given by him/her is true.
4. Application accompanied with requisite documents/enclosure received after the last date shall be summarily rejected.
5. No refund of fee will be made on withdrawal of admission under any circumstances.
6. In case the candidate fails to submit the required documents at the time of admission shall be treated as cancelled and no
request for refund of fee will be entertained under any circumstances.
7. If the applicant is employed, employers no objection certificate with proof of one year leave must be submitted during the
time of admission.
8. Trainees can avail FTTC facilities only after the course commences and only till the course is completed.
9. Trainees are liable to security checks on entry or exit from the college premises.
10. FTTC will not be responsible for any loss of belongings left unattended by the trainees at the college premises.
11. Intake of any sort of intoxicating substance is strictly prohibited. Chewing Pann/Gutkha also prohibited.
12. A trainee has to ensure at least 75% attendance for attaining eligibility for appearing at the university examination.
13. A medical certificate will be required if there are more than three days consecutive absence owing to illness.
14. All FTTC properties have to be handled with care. Any damage or pilferage caused to FTTC properties by any trainee will
be appropriately charged
15. Trainees should strictly adhere to instructions regarding entry/exit regulations, parking of vehicles etc. They should not
bring friends visitors or relatives to the classrooms or any resource centre.
16. Ragging is banned in FTTC and any one indulging in ragging process is likely to be punished appropriately by Anti
Ragging Cell.
17. All trainees are supposed to attend the classes in proper uniform as declared by the college.
18. Male trainees must have short and properly groomed hair, clean and well trimmed nails. They should attend classes
every day with clean shaved and polished shoe.
19. Female trainees must have properly combed hair with clean and well trimmed nails without nail polish. Perfumes should
not be used while attending theory or practical classes.
20. During class hour, wearing the college identity card is compulsory.
21. These rules comes into effect immediately and equally apply on all trainees of FTTC.
22. FTTC holds the right to introduce, alter, amend or change any or all the rules from time to time if found necessary.
23. Interpretation of these rules will always be made by the designated person of FTTC and shall be final and binding on all
trainees.
24. For any legal dispute the jurisdiction will be at Ranchi Court only.
25. Discontinuance:
I. In case any trainee is found not paying his/her fees within 30 days from the due date, he/she will fetch disciplinary
measure.
II. If any trainee at their own opt to drop out from the course then the case will also be treated a discontinuance. In such a
situation, the course fee and other charges already paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
III. In case of absence for 15 consecutive days, The College must be informed of valid reason or the case will be treated as
discontinuance. In case of misconduct and violation of college norms, trainees may fetch disciplinary action leading to
discontinuance.
