I have been a career law enforcement officer for over three decades. During my career I have had the opportunity to be exposed to nearly all facets of law enforcement and have been privileged to work for a very forward-thinking agency. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and have learned to respect the importance of education during my

career. I came to the conclusion that I was missing a vital part of my education: a master’s degree.

I did not make a quick decision regarding my choice of institutions; I spent some time looking at programs offered by universities across the United States. I chose Faulkner University for several reasons. The first point I was looking for was regional accreditation. This accreditation, which is the same as my state undergraduate university, is a benchmark of the legitimacy of the university. The accreditation is a testimony of the quality of the program.

The second point I was seeking was a program which provided the flexibility which I needed as I worked in my full-time position. My work schedule varied widely from day to day; I needed a program that allowed me to complete coursework based on a reasonable timeline.

The third point was the affordability of the program. Faulkner University offered a solid program, administered by instructors who have real-world experience in the field. The program met my own personal needs, and allowed me, as a law enforcement officer, to make an investment into my education. I found the Master’s program to be reasonable in cost; the instructors and staff have been very responsive to my needs; and I am proud to add this achievement to my career.

I was lost, fresh out of undergrad and every school I tried for a master’s program seemed to deceive me with half-truths. I went to a graduate school fair with my best friend one day when I happened to come across a representative from Faulkner University. I shared with the recruiter some of the unpleasant experiences I had with previous universities and I

could see in her expression that she felt for me and she asked me to give Faulkner a try.

For the next several days, I constantly emailed the recruiter with questions and concerns that I had about the counseling program. My main concern about Faulkner’s program was that it is online. To me that was the scariest thing because I was accustomed to being in a classroom setting so that I could speak with my professors face to face. I received so many testimonies from students who were already in the program to put my mind at ease. I told my parents I had never spoken to a recruiter who loved an institution so much and I had never known a school that cared about its students so much. I chose Faulkner to get my counseling degree because they LOVE their students and show it constantly, whether it’s by email or a phone call.

Since I have been at Faulkner I found that my instructors are just as caring as my advisor and they are very understanding and willing to work with their students. My GPA has never been higher and Faulkner is helping me make all of my dreams come true. Now, whenever someone says to me that they are considering an institution to further their education, I always recommend Faulkner University.

I work full time and have a very busy schedule but I still wanted a master’s degree. I needed to find a program that was both convenient and affordable. I looked at many programs before I made my decision to attend Faulkner’s MSM program. The staff and faculty at Faulkner give students all the tools they need to succeed. Master of Science in Counseling[ Online ]

The counseling profession is full of challenges. It is also full of rewards.

Seeing the progress made by someone you are working with, seeing

relationships mended and seeing families strengthened are some of the

reasons counselors choose this field of work. You have the potential to

do that. At Faulkner, we want to prepare you for these experiences by

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)[ Online ]

The first accredited Great Books-based doctoral program in the nation,

the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is an academic degree with rich roots

providing intellectual and spiritual engagement with the Great Tradition of

the Western world. The Great Books format consists of readings in history,

religion, philosophy, literature, social sciences, mathematics, scientific

reasoning and humanities.

The fully online program employs interactive tools, and core classes

and seminars are conducted in the evenings via conference calls. The

program also includes several tutorials, in which a student works one-on-

one with a professor in his or her area of interest. Students can select a

concentration in history, literature, philosophy or general humanities.

The doctoral program is completely informed by the Christian faith. All

courses are led by people who have proven that Christianity assists in

scholarship and is not a stumbling block to matters of the mind.
