St. Patrick's School is Hosting Open Houses: Sunday, January 29, 11AM-2PM / Monday, January 30, 9AM-1PM / Tuesday, January 31, 9AM-1PM
These Open Houses are for Pre-K3 though 8th Grade. If you cannot attend one of these dates, please call the school office at (914) 962-2211 to arrange a tour.
****************************************************************************** St. Patrick’s School students invite you to join them, as part of Catholic Schools Week, to become heroes. They will be hosting a PINT SIZE HERO program with the American Red Cross by running a BLOOD DRIVE on Wednesday, February 1st from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Family Education Center. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They don’t wear capes or special suits, and their badge of honor is the bandage that shows they gave the “gift of life”. Our students encourage eligible donors to become heroes and answer the call of patients in need by donating blood. Donating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help save a patient’s life. To make an appointment for our blood drive, go to www.RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor keyword: StPatrick (walk-ins are also welcome). For more information, contact St. Patrick’s School at (914) 962-2211. Thank you!

Dear friends in the Lord: Soon our archdiocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection. Our participation supports the charitable work of Pope Francis as he reaches out to those who are marginalized and suffering around the globe. By supporting this collection, you join the Holy Father in bringing a little more mercy into the world. Pope Francis called to us in his 2016 Urbi et Orbi address, “May efforts be made everywhere to promote the culture of encounter, justice and reciprocal respect, which alone can guarantee the spiritual and material welfare of all people.” We are taking up this collection to be part of the Church’s effort to promote a culture of encounter and justice. Your support makes it possible for the Holy Father to carry out his charitable works around the world by assisting those who suffer from war, natural disasters, and other difficult situations. Let us join our brothers and sisters in faith from around the globe to help Pope Francis reach the marginalized in our world. Please prayerfully consider how you can best support the Peter’s Pence Collection this year, as you have done in the past with my Gratitude. For more information about the collection, please visit www.usccb.org/peters-pence. Thank you, and may the Lord bless you abundantly. With prayerful best wishes, I am, Faithfully in Christ Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York

A Note f rom the Pas tor’s Desk Dear Parishioners,
Preparing for St. Joseph’s Workshop this past Friday, I realized once again how important it is to try to pray without ceasing and love God in every moment. It sounds like an almost impossible task but nothing is impossible with God, especially trying to put His Word into practice.
In case you don’t know, St. Joseph’s Workshop is an attempt to foster and encourage prayer and deeper faith for individuals and for families. The reality for many people is that we are too busy, or we get pulled in so many directions, and we can loose our focus on our attraction to God. Many people say they don’t have time for religious things but, the truth is, we lose so much if we lose our connection to God.
I would say the great thing about St. Joseph’s Workshop is that it tries to employ simple means to strengthen faith. It is like a monthly reminder to think of our life of faith.
First of all, gathering with others is beneficial, especially with brothers and sisters in the house of the Lord. Fellowship and discussion are extremely helpful. Exposition with Benediction, opportunity for Confession, as well as praying the Rosary, are also ways to lift our hearts to the Lord and share our faith with others. This is not a complicated program.
I am happy that, among so many other initiatives in this parish, there is the St. Joseph’s Workshop. St. Joseph himself is a tremendous example of living in the presence of Jesus and listening to His Word.
Hopefully, all of the efforts of St. Joseph’s Workshop will help some people to be better aware of Jesus working in their lives. Jesus promised to be with us always and He established the Church to build up His Kingdom on earth. The Kingdom of Heaven will not be fully realized until the end of time as we know it, but there is no time like the present for us to turn away from sin and follow Jesus with our whole mind, heart and soul.
May St. Joseph and our Blessed Mother watch over us and may Jesus bless us always.
Sincerely in Christ,
