Now that
we’re
into
our
Fall
Ministry
together
(and
I’ve
been with you for four months now), we are in the midst
of a series on Sunday mornings entitled FBCRandolph 101—What it Means to Be Part of This Church Family.
I am hoping that what we share on Sunday mornings, will
be shared many times to the people God brings to
FBCRandolph who will become members of our church
family. As I mentioned in the very first sermon in this se‐
ries (which you can hear on our new church website if you missed it—www.fbcrandolph.net),
the church is a family and a Christian not part of a church family is a spiritual orphan.
Some people think church membership is just being on the church rolls. Many churches have lots
of people on the rolls who are not actively attending, engaging, contributing, and participating in
the life of the church. That’s why I think we should think of it more as partnership than member ‐
ship. The apostle Paul said, “I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in
deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.” (Philemon 6,
TNIV )
Partners in a corporation, firm, or any institution are expected to be part of the team! May I sug‐
gest that we should do better than corporations, firms, and institutions? We are members , no
partners together in the Body of Christ! We need to be actively engaged in the ministry of our
church so that we can see more disciples and better disciples in our assembly!
We don’t need more volunteers here; we need partners!
Do you agree?
His servant and yours,
Dr. Roger D. Haber, Pastor

SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is off to a good start! However, there is someone missing ‐ You! Please come and in‐
vite your friends and family to fellowship with us. We are commanded to “GO TELL”
(Matthew 28:19). So many need to hear good news—The Good News!
We’re looking forward to having you in a Sunday School class!
~ FALL EVENTS ~ A P E A C E M A K I N G R E T R E A T When: November 4th and November 5th
Time: Friday 7:00pm to Saturday 3:30pm
Location: The American Baptist Church Camp and Retreat Conference Center

Pastor Roger will be leading us in learning the principles of peacemaking. How do we deal with
conflict when it comes? Too many people either respond by withdrawal or attack. We will learn a
better way‐‐the peacemaking way! Weʹll talk about confession, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Not
only will these principles help us as a church, they will help us in all our interpersonal relationships.
All are welcome! However the leadership‐‐those who are members of boards and committees, in‐
cluding Sunday School Teachers, are strongly encouraged to attend.
There must be a minimum of 10 people attending. A deposit of $20 is required by October 10th. You
give cash or a check made out to “Grotonwood” to Becky or Jared. In the event that we have less
than 10 interested, we’ll return your deposit. Otherwise the $20 is non‐refundable and the remaining
$45 is due upon arrival to Grotonwood—167 Prescott St, Groton, MA 01450. Please let us know if
you are willing to drive a van. More details to follow. http://grotonwood.org/grotonwood‐facilities
THANKSGIVING BASKETS
Sunday, November 20, 2011
The Sunday School students and teachers will decorate and distribute Thanksgiving baskets to those
in need on Sunday, November 20, 2011. We are looking for donors and donations. Donors can make
a check out to First Baptist Church, Randolph and include ʺSS Thanksgiving Basket donationʺ on the
memo line. A basket to collect can goods and non‐perishable items will be placed in the Snack Area.
In a few weeks, we’ll be providing forms for you to complete, if you or someone you know needs a
basket. 518 North Main Street ~ Randolph, MA 02368-3706 ~ (781) 963-6377
