MANAGERS NOTES The magic of the Rock Cup is once again upon us and the team face the biggest challenge to date. We have come up against a premier division team in Lions during pre season and managed a 1-1 draw but tonight will be totally different.: Both clubs really really want this and will go 150% out to get the win which will put them into the next round.
We will need to keep our shape, compact and make sure we take our chances. We are not the favourites, but with our fans acting as 12th man we will give it our all.
Thanks for the support and let's hope for a great game of football.

Good evening,
Its the biggest match of the season tonight for the
Magpies. Our first chance to pit our talent against a
premier league team.
Personally, it is the draw I wanted. Glacis play in claret
and blue due to the founders of the club being West
Ham supporters. So after Magpies, they are my team!
May the winner of this fixture win the Rock Cup.
Theres going to be a lot of focus on this game, with us
being the best supported club in the second division
and hoping for a victory. Plus with just this fixture remaining, only one second
division team (College 1975) has made it into the next round with no second
division club having beaten premier opposition. Could it be our night?
Although not an official GFA competition, supporters will be pleased that our
team won the inaugural Street Soccer League competition a couple of weeks
ago with our Reece Placid the tournaments top scorer. See page 10.
Our next game after tonight is on Wednesday 24th Feb at 18.15 v Cannons in
the quarter final of the Second Division Cup. We would welcome a vociferous
crowd for that one as we attempt to make the semi-final. Beer and burgers at
the ready courtesy of Chesterton Estate Agents.
Tonight we welcome Ryan Martinez as our mascot (page 14) and its a big
thanks for 5 year old Evan for leading the team our last time round (page 15).
Im pleased with our first season of sponsoring football in Gibraltar. I think
weve made a difference. Its our philosophy in everything we do.
Finally we welcome Tim Reoch tonight as the referee, a fellow West Ham
supporter.
Enjoy the game.

GFA opens investigation to determine whether Red Imps
players bet against themselves
The Gibraltar Football Association has opened an investigation to
determine whether Red Imps second division players bet against
themselves. The Gibraltar-based gaming company Bet 365 reportedly got
its odds wrong, mistaking the second tier Red Imps team for the
defending Premier Division Champions, Lincoln Red Imps FC.
Allegedly, some Red Imps players placed the maximum bet of 500, with
this flagged by the Bet 365 system. GBC understands the bets were
suspended and the incident reported to the GFA.
A GFA spokesperson has told GBC: The Gibraltar FAs Integrity Unit is
aware of the information and has already began a full investigation. He
added, the Gibraltar FA has strict rules on betting which ensure that
Gibraltar Footballs Integrity is upheld.

About Brunos Magpies:
Manager Daniel Amaya sees it as a difficult tie where there are a number of good players that his team need to be vigilant to keep under control if they want to win this match.
Morale is high in the team although it is in the lower part of the table.
The team have been playing very good football in the last games but for one reason or another results haven't come their way. Although the priority is not to be relegated they will try to have a good run in the cup where in only one game for each qualifying round, if cards are played correctly there can be some upsets.
