Installation Instructions

Technical InformationInstalling the FC3CO Current Output Board will add two analog outputs to ultrasonic meters equipped with the FC3 Rev C controller. Since the analog signal is converted from the FC3 frequency signal, it represents the same output variable as the frequency signal (i.e. volume at line condition, etc.). The following describes the material/tools required and the procedure for adding the current output board.

1 Locate the FC3 board in the electronics enclosure box.

2 Disconnectthe4Phoenixconnectors from the FC3 controller.

3 Oneatatime,removethePhilips screws and washers which hold the FC3 board and replace with the standoffs provided with the FC3CO board kit.

Note: Be sure to keep all washers and screws as they will be needed to hold the FC3CO board in place.

4 Carefully mount the FC3CO board on the FC3 board by lining up the pinsofthe18pinconnectoronthe back of the FC3CO board with the 18socketconnectoronthefaceof the FC3 board. Engage the pins until the FC3CO board is sitting on the standoffs. About 4 mm of the pins will still be visible between the boards when installed correctly.

5 Attach the FC3CO board by installing the 4 screws/washers removed in step 3 through the 4 screw holes and into the standoffs.

6 PlugthePhoenixconnectorsback into the FC3 board input and output connections (originally disconnected instep2).

7 Output wiring from the FC3CO board is to be connected to the CHA and/ or CHB output connectors on the FC3CO board. See “Technical Information – Dual Analog Output Option for FC3 with FC3CO Controller” document for set-up and specification of the FC3CO Current Output board.
