the fourth floor Hahnemann Campus (take the C elevators to her office) FCE DESCRIPTION

Student will participate in dermatology outpatient clinics. There is opportunity for shadowing attendings and residents and also evaluating patients on your own. Students should work on perfecting dermatologic morphology, performing complete skin exams, generating differential diagnoses for common and rare skin conditions, and participating in the treatment plan. You will be able to see both shave and punch biopsies and even have a chance to observe some dermatology surgeries and/or laser treatments. The inpatient consult service is a great opportunity as well. We round after clinic every day at University and Memorial Campuses.

FCE LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of this session, students should be able to: • use accurate derm morphologic terms • recognize some common dermatologic findings (nevi, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, non-melanoma

skin cancers, acne and more) • provide some basic advice about sun protection and how to self-evaluate moles
