1 Overview of the GPX147-FAT3101
GPX147-FAT3101 series of fiber access terminal (hereafter abbreviated as FAT) is located at the user access point of FTTx for connecting the distribution optical cables and drop cables, direct connection, branching and protection of optical fibers. It supports random number allocation. No additional tools are required if users open it repeatedly.
By installation location, GPX147-FAT3101 involves indoor and outdoor models; by supported connection mode, GPX147-FAT3101 involves mechanical connection and splicing connection.
The indoor GPX147-FAT3101 and the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D have the following differences:
Different appearance: To enhance sealing effect, the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D uses the inner hexagonal screw, as shown in Figure 1-1.

The indoor GPX147-FAT3101 uses the peg to replace the Inner hexagonal screw, as shown in Figure 1-2.

Different inner structure: The outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D includes the rubber sealing loop, as shown in 7 of Figure 1-3.

The indoor GPX147-FAT3101 does not include the rubber sealing loop, as shown in Figure 1-4.

Different protection level: The outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D has a protection level of IP65, while the indoor GPX147-FAT3101 has a protection level of IP4X.
Different application scenarios: For more details, please refer to 3 Application Scenarios of the GPX147-FAT3101.
The unbranched optical fibers leave out of the box in different mode: The cable leading-out hole at the upper side of the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D has been sealed, so the unbranched optical fibers can only leave out of the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D from the cable leading-in hole at the lower side of the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D, while the unbranched optical fibers can leave out of the indoor GPX147-FAT3101 from the cable leading-out hole either at the upper side or at the lower side of the indoor GPX147-FAT3101.
The GPX147-FAT3101 allows the drop cable (flat) and general optical cable to be led in:
The drop cable (flat) holes can support the leading-in and leading out of 18 drop cables (2 mm × 3 mm).
The general optical cable holes can support the leading-in and leading out of the general cable with a diameter less than 15 mm.

2 Features of the GPX147-FAT3101
The GPX147-FAT3101 features flexible application, reasonable design, easy and durable operation.
Flexible application Rich capacity, adaptable to different indoor and outdoor application scenarios. Direct connection and branching of an optical cable is available. Flexible Fiber Connection: The product supports fiber splicing and fiber
mechanical connection. With the Huawei-patented device for fixing fiber connection points, users can reliably fix various splicing protection tubes and fiber mechanical connection terminals on the same FAT.
Reasonable Design Fiber spool is available under the splicing tray to store redundant unbranched
optical fibers. Independent area is designed for routing flex optical cables. The lock of GPX147-FAT3101 features special structure to withstand various
formidable environment and to protect the product from professional theft. The lock core does not have spring, in addition, cam structure is adopted to avoid the circumstance that the door is unable to be opened for the spring is rusted. The lock is easy to use and boasts good robustness. Moreover, the special dust-proof lock hole can prevent dust from entering the FAT.
Easy and durable operation The GPX147-FAT3101 supports random number allocation. No additional tools
are required if users open it repeatedly. When routing an optical cable into the GPX147-FAT3101, you can place the
cable on the cable inlet after you open the door-lock and remove the plug, rather than route it through the cable inlet. In this way, you can lead in and lead out optical cables more conveniently.

The GPX147-FAT3101 can be classified into indoor GPX147-FAT3101 and outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D respectively used in indoor or outdoor scenarios.
Position of GPX147-FAT3101 in FTTH-ODN Network The GPX147-FAT3101 is located at the user access point in the FTTH-ODN network. It connects distribution optical cables and drop cables, provides direct connection and branching for optical cables, and protects them, as shown in Figure 3-1.

Application Scenario of the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D The outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D can be installed on the wall of a building, as shown in Figure 3-2.

The outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D can also be installed on the pole, as shown in Figure 3-3.

Whichever installation method is adopted, the outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D is used to cover a subscriber group, and usually, the number of the subscribers in this group is within 6 to 18 (equivalent to the capacity of an outdoor GPX147-FAT3101D), as shown in Figure 3-4.

The distribution optical cable is led in from the cable inlet at the bottom and led out from the cable outlet at the bottom.

Application Scenarios of the indoor GPX147-FAT3101 1. In one application, the indoor GPX147-FAT3101 is installed in the corridor of a building with multiple floors. After distribution optical cables are routed in the building, they are firstly routed into the fiber access terminal through the cable inlets at the bottom and then routed out of the cabinet through the cable outlet at the top or the bottom. The fiber access terminal implements the branching and direct connection of optical cable so that the distribution optical cable are connected to terminal flexible optical cables entering each family, as shown in Figure 3-5.

2. In the other application, the indoor GPX147-FAT3101 is installed in the corridors of a high-rise building. The distribution optical cables in a high-rise building are routed from the lowest floor to the highest one. In this case, optical cables are routed into the GPX147-FAT3101 through the cable inlet at the bottom and then routed out of the cabinet through the cable outlet at the top or the bottom. The GPX147-FAT3101 implements the branching and direct connection of optical cable so that the distribution optical cables are connected to terminal flexible optical cables entering each family, as shown in Figure 3-6.

4.1 Parameters of the GPX147-FAT3101 Parameters of the GPX147-FAT3101 include specification parameters and environment parameters.
Specification Parameters of the GPX147-FAT3101 GPX147-FAT3101 involves indoor and outdoor models. Up to now, there are six types of products available. Table 4-1 lists the specifications of the GPX147-FAT3101.

Take the GPX147-FAT3101D-6 as an example to describe the naming rules of the GPX147-FAT3101 products: "GPX147" indicates a Huawei cable distribution product; "FAT" means Fiber Access Terminal; "3" means the product is installed on the wall; "1" means that the product is not configured with cable distribution function; "01" is the model of the product, numbered from 01; "D" refers to outdoor (if no "D" appears here, it refers to indoor); "6" indicates that the user capacity is 6 cores.
The GPX147-FAT3101 may be equipped with different accessories depending on its installation modes. Table 4-2shows the accessories.
