WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANIZER

Welcome to the inaugural LIVE! Singapore, a Global Performing Arts Exchange for the business of the performing arts. From 8 to 11 June, you can network and connect, exchange and embrace new ideas and concepts, collaborate and create exciting new projects with fellow performing arts professionals.

LIVE! Singapore is a tailored creative and knowledge-sharing professional platform, the only one of this scale in Asia as it enables participants to experience unique business networking opportunities on a truly regional and international scale, bringing together leading performing artists, practitioners, managers, producers, agents and executives covering all genres and business aspects of the performing arts. The inaugural East meets West event is represented by participants from more than 30 countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America among others.

I am thrilled that we have put together a spectacular line-up of events for you, featuring names such as Carnegie Hall, Stage Entertainment, New York Philharmonic, Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Music Festival, The Really Useful Company Asia Pacific, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Vienna State Opera and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music among many others. We have an international trade fair that showcases the entire performing arts value chain, from venue owners and festival organizers to artist agencies and performers, from dance and theatre companies to orchestras; a groundbreaking conference headlined by performing arts experts from around the world; and impressive performances by renowned stars. There is indeed something for everyone in the performing arts industry.

LIVE! Singapore is the result of close partnerships with many partners and supporters and I would like to take this opportunity to express our warmest thanks. Beside the support of local government bodies such as the National Arts Council, Economic Development Board of Singapore and Singapore Tourism Board, our steering committee and international advisory committee provided strategic advice to ensure that we are always in tune with the latest needs of the arts community.

It has been an honor and a privilege for IMG Artists to be involved in the creation of such an important event for the global performing arts industry. Asia has established itself as an important international arts market, and every year more and more international artists and arts organizations are touring in Asia, just as many Asian artists and arts organizations are expanding their opportunities and performance experiences overseas. We hope that this year and for many years to come, LIVE! will provide a meaningful platform for creating more performance opportunities for artists and ensembles; for the exchange of skills and expertise among arts professionals; and for the shaping of the growth of our industry for all of our mutual benefits in the future. IMG Artists has been operating its business in Asia now for more than 20 years. We’ve seen enormous growth and incredible development over this time. We are honored to have been part of Asia’s development as an important international arts hub, and we hope through LIVE! and our ongoing activity in consulting, touring artists and the creation of performing arts events, that we will continue to contribute to this growth in a significant way. We are thrilled to have been able to deliver this event to Singapore, the home of our regional Asia Pacific headquarters, to contribute to Singapore’s vision to be a Global City for the Arts, and to give back to the city that has given so much to us over the years.
