It is hard to believe we are already at the end ofFebruary. I hope you are all getting a chance tocome up and breathe a little after the end of theyear and open enrollment season. This week AAHU has a very strong contingentvisiting Washington DC as part of NAHU's CapitolConference. Capitol Conference represents anunprecedented opportunity to present positivesolutions that will contribute to a stable, competitiveand efficient health insurance market. Thiscontingent is taking the opportunity to to make sureour solutions are part of the mix. We have manyAAHU leaders attending leadership meetings as wellso that we can continue to grow and build a strongstate chapter as well as local chapters here inArizona. This is a great conference and if you everget the chance to go I would strongly suggestattending. AAHU, GPAHU, and SAAHU will also bepresenting checks for the HUPAC administrative fundto NAHU during their meetings.
May 17th we will be having our AAHU StateConference and I hope you have your calendarsmarked. We have a great conference committeeheaded by Judy Johnson and they are planning awonderful array of speakers to give some greatinsight and also offer CE Credits. We want to makethis event a can't miss each year and this year willbe one you do not want to miss. SAAHU has recently updated their website and theycontinue to add pieces so please check out all theyare doing here, http://saahu.org/. GPAHU is in theprocess of updating their website as well and thisshould be live by the end of March. AAHU will updatetheir website once we get GPAHU updated. I want to say how grateful I am for those serving onthe AAHU board. They have been absolutely amazingand have made my time on the board a realmemorable experience. If you see them at the localmeetings or any other time please take a moment tothank them for all their hard work. I know that I cannot thank them enough for all that they do for

Who are the Qualifying Beneficiaries?

Allows an additional 11 months of continuationcoverage for a qualified dependent who isdetermined under federal law to have a disability atthe time of a qualifying event; and provides writtendetermination of disability from the SSA to the planwithin 60 days after the determination date andprior to the end of the 18-month continuationperiod. Allows an additional 18 months of continuationcoverage for a qualified dependent if any of thefollowing qualifying events occur during the initial18 month continuation period:
