School of Agricultural Engineering FEAGRI For more than 30 years, the research conducted by the Unicamp School of Agricultural Engineering - FEAGRI has contributed to the sustainable development of Brazilian agricultural production and the welfare of people in rural areas. Its scientific activities comprise studies such as the following: non-destructive methods, for the inspection of structures, materials characterization and classification; sociology and rural extension; precision animal production techniques; the implementation of traceability in animal herds and climate control systems for animal production; the determination of the physical and chemical parameters of vegetables and their packaging; air conditioning systems and thermal control for indoor vegetable production; the use of refrigeration technology for product quality; the design of electrical systems for agricultural activities considering the conservation of energy; geotechnology applied to the monitoring of agricultural areas and crop yield prediction; the development of irrigation techniques and equipment insuring protection of our water researchs by new techniques and waste management, to limit the contamination risk and the rational use of the water sources. FEAGRI’s vast set of research activities also includes the following fields: instrumentation and control systems for equipment and automation; power and machinery; agricultural, industrial and agribusiness machinery and processes; the physical-mechanical characterization of conventional and alternative materials for agricultural structures; the design of agricultural machinery and precision farming technology; the physical characteristics of biological tissues of interest in machine-plant interactions; the pre-processing of agricultural products; biologica tissue senescence; the grading, tranport and processing of agricultural products insuring product qualith and reducing waste throughout all post-harvest stages; energy efficiency equipment for food refrigeration designing using alternative energy sources; safe and ergonomic agricultural machinery. Besides providing knowledge and technology to society and participating in the formulation of public policies in the field of agricultural sciences, FEAGRI is also recognized as a symbol of excellence for the quality of the education it provides. Combining a diverse technical foundation with the necessary social, economic and environmental concerns, agricultural engineers who graduate from Unicamp are trained and motivated to collaborate with the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors to produce and disseminate knowledge to rural areas. At the graduate level, students develop skills to find solutions to engineering problems related to agriculture, conducting studies whenever possible to provide contributions and advances at the frontiers of knowledge. School of Agricultural EngineeringFEAGRIFor more than 30 years, the research conducted by the Unicamp School of Agricultural Engineering - FEAGRI has contributed to the sustainable development of Brazilian agricultural production and the welfare of people in rural areas. Its scientific activities comprise studies such as the following: non-destructive methods, for the inspection of structures, materials characterization and classification; sociology and rural extension; precision animal production techniques; the implementation of traceability in animal herds and climate control systems for animal production; the determination of the physical and chemical parameters of vegetables and their packaging; air conditioning systems and thermal control for indoor vegetable production; the use of refrigeration technology for product quality; the design of electrical systems for agricultural activities considering the conservation of energy; geotechnology applied to the monitoring of agricultural areas and crop yield prediction; the development of irrigation techniques and equipment insuring protection of our water researchs by new techniques and waste management, to limit the contamination risk and the rational use of the water sources.FEAGRI’s vast set of research activities also includes the following fields: instrumentation and control systems for equipment and automation; power and machinery; agricultural, industrial and agribusiness machinery and processes; the physical-mechanical characterization of conventional and alternative materials for agricultural structures; the design of agricultural machinery and precision farming technology; the physical characteristics of biological tissues of interest in machine-plant interactions; the pre-processing of agricultural products; biologica tissue senescence; the grading, tranport and processing of agricultural products insuring product qualith and reducing waste throughout all post-harvest stages; energy efficiency equipment for food refrigeration designing using alternative energy sources; safe and ergonomic agricultural machinery.

The master’s and PhD programs received a score of 5 from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Capes).
