A Prayer to End Human Trafficking

God of freedom and love, we are saddened to know that more than one million people are trafficked into slavery each year. The effects of contemporary slavery are felt in every country around our world. As sisters and brothers, we are tormented by this reality that will leave devastating repercussions for generations to come. Our hearts grieve for what our minds can barely comprehend, particularly when we hear of women, men, and children who are deceived and transported to unknown places. We recognize this sexual and economic exploitation occurs because of human greed and profit. We are sorrowful and our spirits angry that human dignity is being degraded through deception and threats of force. Help the violators to be transformed and enlightened to realize the scope of their unjust actions. Allow them to see the value and the dignity of every human person. Lord of Life, strengthen all those whose hearts have been broken and whose lives have been uprooted. As a people in solidarity with Your suffering children, grace us with strength and courage to denounce this crime against humanity and to work against the demeaning practice of human trafficking. Amen.

All saints school news

Join us at the 8:30am Mass on Wednesday, February 11th to receive the Anointing of the Sick and pray for those that suffer from illness.

Prayer for the Sick: God of hope and healing, Be with those whose bodies burn with fever, rage with pain, struggle for breath, cry out for limbs that used to be, or crave addictive substances. Be with those whose minds and emotions face the wait of a diagnosis, wrestle with the choices for treatment, adapt to a life altered by chronic illness, recover from abuse, or push against the encroaching clouds of dementia. Be with those whose spirits are exhausted by the quest for health, doubt the existence of love, question the fairness of life, or stare into the face of death. Cool the fever, bring balm to the pain, ease the fight for air, adapt the body for new ways to move, and calm the cravings. Ease anxiety and fear. Build trust in your everlasting love and care. God of all, hear our prayer. Amen. – From the National Association of Catholic Chaplains

Pre-registration is required. Please sign up with Peggy at (253) 286-0026 or [email protected].

Ministering to the Sick Did you know? Members of the All Saints community provide Eucharistic Ministry to seven local nursing homes every week and visit Catholic patients at Good Samaritan Hospital five days a week.

Have you ever considered the gift you could be to another person? Your Eucharistic ministry could be a great blessing and an answered prayer to a homebound parishioner or a patient in the hospital. Please call Aleah at the parish office to inquire, (253) 845-7521.

Always register your visits with the parish office; we need to record who is receiving Eucharistic Ministry in their home. Always approach a sacristan following the liturgy rather than presenting your pyx during holy Communion. Always call the office with questions or if you need prayer books, rosaries, holy cards, and other resources. Always remember that we are thankful for your service! Knights of Columbus

All Members: Join us Monday, February 9th at 7pm for our General Membership Meeting in the school lunch room.

Want to know more? Are you interested in learning more about the Knights of Columbus? Want to help give back through charity? Contact Brandon Haywood, Grand Knight at [email protected] to learn more or follow us on Facebook at Facebook.com/knightsofcolumbus1629.
