THRIVE OPEN HOURS AND STAFFERS: FEB-APRIL 2012

MONDAYS 4-6pmGET! SOMETHING! DONE! WITH! JANEL! With Janel Nockleby Get something done! Anything. One thing, two things!. Bring your laptop, or use the Thrive computers, or bring that book you’ve been meaning to read. Clean up your inbox-es - email and others. Write to your Grandma. Update your resume. Just get it done! Thrive will provide a productive atmosphere where you can’t see your dirty dishes or cuddle your cute fuzzy pets or order a beer. You will get something done! Maybe homework. We have tea. Couches. Tables. A printer. Pens, pencils, paper. We can listen to music, or not. We can have motivational chats, or not. Whatever you need to get something done. We also have reference books on how others have done things. Go, fight, get something done!

TUESDAYS 10am-3pmSTUDY HALL, GOAL-SETTING, LIFE COACHING and MOREWith L. Zachary DuBois

1. Study Hall: An opportunity for writers to write, thinkers to think, and readers to read. If you have something to work on and are tired of working in isolation, this time-frame will be for silent, individual work in a space with others who are doing the same thing. Shared breaks for decompression on the porch are encouraged.

2. Goal-setting life coaching: Having a difficult time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? Need help breaking a project into manageable pieces? Want some help turning

your passions and ideas into something tangible and fulfilling? As an experienced academic advisor and someone who is in the midst of working on an enormous project, I can provide empathy, ideas, and some direction. Drop-in or make an appointment, your choice. Bring something concrete to discuss.

3. A drop-in opportunity to meet and talk with trans-gender, gender-nonconforming adults about whatev-er needs and wants to be talked about. Not therapy. Not a support group. All ages welcome.

4. Tutoring in various areas.

TUESDAYS 5-8pmMUSIC, NATURE, WRITING . . .With Michael MetivierMichael is a poet, songwriter, essayist, and aspiring naturalist. Come learn about how to identify trees, birds, write poems and songs, improve grammar, track mammals, etc. How to consume less and notice more!

WEDNESDAYS 6-8pmPOETRY: WORKSHOP AND MORE With Paetri Scanlon A weekly group dedicated to reading and writing and workshopping poetry. All levels welcome.

THURSDAYS 6:30-8:30pmSERIOUS PLAY: ACTING FOR NON-ACTORSWith Josh PlattAn ongoing open workshop for anyone interested in theater, regardless of experience or background knowledge. With a focus on simple games and exer-cises, we will play and explore different components of embodied theatrical performance: movement,

rhythm, emotion and language. If there is inter-est among participants, the workshop could lead to a collaborative original performance piece.

MONTHLY STAGED READINGS AT THRIVE With Josh PlattAn open call for participants in a new monthly staged reading series at Thrive! Everyone will be cast! Please email Josh Platt if you are interest-ed in being part of March’s reading or if you have any questions. Our first reading will focus on the plays of Harold Pinter.Josh Platt is a local actor and director. He lives in Montague. You can get in touch with him at [email protected].

SUNDAYS 3-6pmLOTS AND LOTS OF COOL STUFF!Liz Carter has a science degree, likes writing, has two awesome toddlers, and has absolute-ly no idea what she does, exactly. She’ll be at the Thrive Project on Sundays waiting for any-one else in town who is also totally baffled by this damned quarter-life-crisis/economic-crisis hybrid that preys on everyone starting off in this decade.Liz will be glad to advise/assist in this incredible list of categories: Tutoring in algebra, geometry, pre-calc & calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, creative writing (fiction, playwriting), essay writing, job hunting, off-the-beaten-path volunteer/com-munity activism opportunities, parenting early (I’m really interested in building networks to support parents in their teens/early twen-ties), parenting on the cheap, college on the cheap, how to manage/avoid student loans, traveling on the super cheap, budgeting in gen-

eral, farming/gardening (specifically starting farm businesses), local economies/creative economies.

Look for fliers, facebook postings, and emails about special events!

Laura Carboni and the Gill Tavern raised over $200 for the Thrive Project at their Quiznite in February.
