  • Bellevue Parents Auxiliary BPA is our school parent organization. We embrace parent volunteers and appreciate the services they provide to our students. Watch for opportunities to contribute your services throughout the year.

We had a great time at Family Skate Night. It was fun to see the families from the three elementary schools get together in the cold and enjoy an evening of fun.

Box Tops/Labels for Education Fundraiser. We are always collecting box tops and labels. We send in the collection a couple times through the year. Our last submission, earned over $300 for our school. Thank you for your contributions.

Our Bellevue Bear Pledge includes our commitment to Always Being a Good Neighbor. We start each week together as a school community and recommit ourselves to our roles as learners and leaders. Student bears lead us in our pledge each week to help us continually review our commitment of being Bellevue Bears.

Our students have taken on several projects to practice being a good neighbor. One such project was our December food drive for the Hunger Coalition. Led by our Cub Council and supported by all our students and families. The food drive brought in 223 pounds of food for the Hunger Coalition. This will provide 290 meals for families! Way to go Bellevue!

Another neighborly project is our bake sale we held just after the Math Carnival. This project was to raise funds for Save the Children Foundation. Our Cub Council is sponsoring 8 year old Agira and her village

in Mozambique, Africa. Thank you for your support in helping us raise $323 for our global citizen project.

Our next project is our Bear Hugs Assembly. Each class donates stuffed teddy bears to local organizations to offer comfort to clients. We will be celebrating this event on February 9th.

Bellevue Bear Pledge: Bellevue Elementary is a Thoughtful Place! As a Bellevue Bear, I will do my best...to work with others, to share my ideas and abilities,to help others learn, be safe, and get things done, to respect and care for myself, my school, and my community, to be honest, responsible and expand my learning, to encourage myself to proudly reach my goals and become all that I can be!

    In the Spotlight

  • Recycle ClubA group of 4th grade students initiated a recycle club led by head custodian, Jeff Jones, to bring awareness to recycling and our eco footprints. They have worked this fall and winter to create a display for our cafeteria using recycled milk caps. They have also designed a sticker to share with other students to celebrate efforts toward recycling. Several students from this club also participate in a paper recycling program led by Ms. Drewien.

Flu Season: Our Commitment to Stopping Its SpreadHow will we respond to student illness?

    •Staff will assess the child.

•If a child is coughing, sneezing or showing other signs of respiratory illness, we will mask the child to help prevent the spread of illness and germs while they wait to be picked up by a parent or guardian.

•While waiting for a parent or guardian to pick the child up, we will keep the child isolated in a health room, conference room, or other space away from other students and staff.

Be Part of Our FutureThe Blaine County School District Strategic Plan started with a series of staff and community meetings last week.  An estimated 500 people participated in a series of 11 staff and 3 community meetings.  Look for a survey on Monday, February 9 that gives you an opportunity to prioritize the ideas from the first series of meetings. The next series of meetings will be:

    • Tuesday, February 24, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Hemingway Elementary, Ketchum*• Wednesday, February 25, 12:00-1:00 p.m. Community Campus, Hailey• Wednesday, February 25, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Carey School Carey

Ski WeekIt’s the time of year again! Time for us to pull on our ski boats, click into our skis and enjoy three days skiing together. 3rd through 5th grade students will once again have the opportunity to either enjoy three days (February 25, 26, 27) at Dollar or Baldy, or the beautiful nordic trails our valley has to offer. You should have received a packet with the information about our ski week. Please make sure the packet is returned to the school by Wednesday, February 4th.

We are also needing parent volunteers. Any parent is invited to join us for the 3 days of skiing. There will also be a parent meeting to prepare for our ski days on February 19th at 6:30. Contact Ronda Ward at 578-5080 or [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering.

¿Cómo podemos responderemos a estudiantes enfermos?
