Reflection of the Gospel:

Today’s Readings teach about wisdom. Paul speaks

of God’s wisdom as being mysterious and often hid-

den from those who consider themselves wise, be-

cause pride can prevent us from listening to God.

Only God can see the future, only God really knows

what is best for us. “If you choose you can keep the

commandments, they will save you; if you trust in

God, you too shall live”. Choosing to keep the

commandments is a form of trust in God; we are

admitting that God’s wisdom is more trustworthy

than our own. Jesus said if you want to be great,

you must put others first; to win a conflict with your

neighbor, you have to win him over with reconcilia-

tion. But the most counter-intuitive wisdom is what

Jesus did on the Cross- he achieved victory through

self-sacrifice.

Reflexión del Evangelio:

Las lecturas de hoy enseñan sobre la sabiduría. Pablo

habla de la sabiduría de Dios como misteriosa y, a

menudo, oculta de aquellos que se consideran sabios,

porque el orgullo puede evitar que escuchemos a

Dios. Solo Dios puede ver el futuro, solo Dios real-

mente sabe lo que es mejor para nosotros. “Si eliges

puedes guardar los mandamientos, te salvarán; si con-

fías en Dios, tú también vivirás.” Elegir guardar los

mandamientos es una forma de confianza en Dios;

Estamos admitiendo que la sabiduría de Dios es más

confiable que la nuestra. Jesús dijo que si quieres ser

grande, debes poner a los demás primero; Para ganar

un conflicto con tu vecino, debes conquistarlo con

reconciliación. Pero la sabiduría más contra intuitiva

es lo que hizo Jesús en la Cruz; logró la victoria a

través del sacrificio personal.

Señor Jesús, me guías a la luz de tu verdad salvadora.

Llena mi corazón y mi mente con tu luz y verdad y

libérame de la ceguera del pecado.

Lord Jesus, you guide me by the light of your saving

truth. Fill my heart and mind with your light and truth and

free me from the blindness of sin.

MINISTRY ASSIGNMENT

Some Words from the Pastor: Blessed are they who follow the law of the

Lord. This is our response to the psalm this

weekend. The law is certainly very

important in the life of the people of God.

It is their guide. It is their life. As the Book

of Sirach says, “If you choose you can keep

the commandments, they will save you; if you trust in

God, you too shall live.

We need laws to guide us in our life, especially as a

community. God’s people were guided by the

commandments. The Ten Commandments were given to

the people through Moses. Jesus is the fulfillment of the

law. He is our guide and our light in our journey of faith.

He is the way to the Father as he says; I am the way, the

truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except

through me. The Sermon on the Mount presents to us the

teachings of Jesus. If we follow the teachings of the Lord,

then we can live in peace and harmony. It may appear so

easy and simple. But human frailty leads us to falter and

sin. We are however, assured of God mercy and

compassion. As we repent and turn to God, we

experience his mercy which is boundless. Pope Francis

has these words to say: “God is infinite love, boundless

mercy, and the love has conquered evil at its root through

the death and resurrection of Christ. And this is the

Gospel, the Good News - God’s love has won. Christ died

on the cross for our sins and rose again. With him we can

fight evil and conquer it every day. Whatever we are

facing, God’s love is there to conquer it. Think about

your own personal trials and battles. Say yes to the love

of God in each situation.

We need the grace of God to follow and live his precepts.

We need his help to live our faith in Christ. The Lord has

shown us the way. Let us follow him as we obey the

commandments of God. We ask for the intercessions of

our Blessed Mother that may be faithful to his Son Jesus,

who was faithful to his Father in doing his will.

DID YOU KNOW? Parents sometimes think of playgrounds as “drop zones” for their kids

— keep an eye or an ear out, but otherwise settle in on a bench while

your child burns off energy. Nearly 170,000 children were injured on

playgrounds in 2019, and a few moments of careful attention could

keep your child from joining those ranks. When you get to a

playground, check out the surfaces underneath the equipment,

especially equipment that allows children to jump or hang from it. The

ground surface should be soft and shock absorbent. Check equipment

for visible dangers — loose or missing pieces, sharp angles, broken

Algunas Palabras Del Sacerdote: Bienaventurados los que siguen la ley del

Señor. Esta es nuestra respuesta al salmo

este fin de semana. La ley es ciertamente

muy importante en la vida del pueblo de

Dios. Es su guía, es su vida. Como dice el

Libro de Sirach: “Si eliges puedes guardar

los mandamientos, te salvarán; Si confías en Dios, tú

también vivirás. Necesitamos leyes que nos guíen en

nuestra vida, especialmente como comunidad. El pueblo

de Dios fue guiado por los mandamientos. Los Diez

Mandamientos fueron dados a la gente a través de Moisés.

Jesús es el cumplimiento de la ley. Él es nuestra guía y

nuestra luz en nuestro viaje de fe. Él es el camino al Padre

como dice; Yo soy el camino, la verdad, y la Vida. Nadie

viene al Padre sino por mí. El Sermón del Monte nos

presenta las enseñanzas de Jesús. Si seguimos las

enseñanzas del Señor, entonces podemos vivir en paz y

armonía. Puede parecer tan fácil y simple. Pero la

fragilidad humana nos lleva a fallar y pecar. Sin embargo,

estamos seguros de la misericordia y la compasión de

Dios. A medida que nos arrepentimos y nos volvemos a

Dios, experimentamos su misericordia que no tiene

límites. El Papa Francisco tiene estas palabras para decir:

“Dios es amor infinito, misericordia ilimitada, y el amor

ha conquistado el mal en su raíz a través de la muerte y

resurrección de Cristo. Y este es el Evangelio, la Buena

Nueva; el amor de Dios ha ganado. Cristo murió en la

cruz por nuestros pecados y resucitó. Con él podemos

luchar contra el mal y conquistarlo todos los días. Lo que

sea que estemos enfrentando, el amor de Dios está ahí

para conquistarlo. Piensa en tus propias pruebas y batallas

personales. Di sí al amor de Dios en cada situación.

Necesitamos la gracia de Dios para seguir y vivir sus

preceptos. Necesitamos su ayuda para vivir nuestra fe en

Cristo. El Señor nos ha mostrado el camino. Sigámoslo

mientras obedecemos los mandamientos de Dios. Pedimos

las intercesiones de nuestra Santísima Madre que puedan

ser fieles a su Hijo Jesús, quien fue fiel a su Padre al hacer

su voluntad.

hijo/a lejos de ser parte de esas estadísticas. Cuando usted llegue a un

parque de juegos, revise las superficies debajo de los juegos,

especialmente si es un equipo para que los niños salten o se cuelguen

de él. El suelo debe ser suave y con buena amortiguación. Revise si

los juegos tienen daños visibles, si están flojos o les faltan piezas, si

tienen ángulos afilados, algunas partes quebradas, etc. Para más
