While we are sad to see Liz leave our teaching staff, we are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with her and Brian. We are so grateful and thrilled that the Lord has put the desire to fill Liz’s role as 1 st grade teacher on the heart of Carol Pitts. Carol has been in healthcare operations for 17 years holding various executive positions, most recently as Vice President of Client Advocacy with Launchpoint Ventures based in Chicago. Carol studied at Eastern Nazarene in the Associates program for Business Management and then transferred to Northeastern University BS program majoring in Operations Technology. Recently laid off, Carol found herself immersed in her small furniture refinishing business, being able to spend more time with her family, and being able to volunteer more at SFS. When approached with the opportunity of a long term substitute teacher position for 1st grade while Liz is on maternity leave, her family prayed about it since it was out of her area of expertise. Excited to get to know the teachers and families better, to have the opportunity to teach their children, and having the feeling that God was leading her in this direction to grow her own relationship with Him made it a very easy answer! She feels very blessed to be able to help at SFS and contribute to the children's education. Although she has big shoes to fill, she is dedicated and committed to ensuring an easy transition and continuing where Liz will leave off. Carol lives in Middleboro with her husband Mark and their son Luke who is in 5th grade at SFS. Luke is also very excited that she'll be teaching at the school. Our Substitute 1st Grade Teacher

As many of you know, Elizabeth and Brian Soule are eagerly anticipating the birth of their precious daughter who is due at the beginning of April, just a few short weeks away! While we are sad to see Liz leave our teaching staff, we are excited to celebrate this momentous occasion with her and Brian. We are so grateful and thrilled that the Lord has put the desire to fill Liz’s role as 1st grade teacher on the heart of Carol Pitts.

She feels very blessed to be able to help at SFS and

contribute to the children's education. Although she has big shoes to fill, she is dedicated and committed to ensuring an easy transition and continuing where Liz will leave off. Carol lives in Middleboro with her husband Mark and their son Luke who is in 5th grade at SFS. Luke is also very excited that she'll be teaching at the school.

of time and effort to prepare the costumes, props, and sets for our spring musicals. Alia is looking for several volunteers willing to help out with this fun task. Some of the things she needs help with are:

• sorting through and organizing prop and costume bins

• helping choose and/or purchase costumes • costume and prop organization • crafting/making costumes and/or props

Please let Alia know if you are willing to help out with costumes and props in any way! K-2 CPAA TESTING

A THREE PIGGY THANK YOU Yesterday, the families and students of SFS enjoyed

a delightful performance of The Three Piggy Opera by the K-2 students! Eating a delicious potluck dinner with our families and watching our youngest students perform is always one of the highlights of the year. Many thanks to all the people who helped make this a successful production. Yvette Newcomb spent several hours helping coach the children and prepare the sets and props, Kevin Severance made the pig noses, and Melissa Letendre and many others coordinated set up and clean up for the potluck. RATS!

On Friday, June 2nd, our 3rd – 5th graders will present Rats: The Story of the Pied Piper. The Town of Hamelin is overrun with rats and the citizens are in a tizzy – until the mysterious Pied Piper appears, offering to solve their dilemma for a small fee. The characters are charming, the dialog witty, and the songs are clever and fun to sing! ENCHANTING SLEEPING BEAUTY

On Wednesday and Thursday, May 24th and 25th, the 6th – 8th graders will present Enchanted Sleeping Beauty: the Legend of Briar-Rose. The king and queen of Never Nod have a new baby, Princess Briar Rose. The witch Evilina, who lives with a giant spider, sets a terrible curse on the poor young princess. Sixteen years later, it’s up to Prince Alexander to come to Briar-Rose’s rescue and the court’s too... for they are all asleep! The prince must fight a Wall of Thorns, a False Princess, and, most frightening of all, the exalted Dark Knight!
