GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS EVERYONE! I hope everyone has recovered from all the extracurricular activi- ties we had in January. February won’t be as hectic, however it will be just as exciting. This month we have “The Talent Show”, the play “Noah”, and a Ventriloquist Show In addition to our regular fun activities. I’m scheduling next seasons entertainment, so if you have an opinion about any of this seasons performances or bands or a suggestion of someone to bring here, please stop in and let me know, or email me at [email protected] I appreciate your input. Unfortunately, the Spaghetti Din- ner and Western Show scheduled for Friday, February 14th is can- celled due to the health of one of the entertainers. If you purchased your tickets please bring them back into the Activities Office so I may refund your money. We will try it again next season. I’m sorry for any inconvenience. VENTRILOQUIST SHOW: Wednesday, February 5th at 7pm Ventriloquist Jerry Breeden will be performing here. Jerry was here about 4 years ago and we re- ally enjoyed his show. He’s changed things up a little so it won’t be exactly the same show as before. We will see his Variety Show with Multiple Characters, also Music Hits of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, “Name That Song Contest”. Tickets are $7.00 each and availa- ble in the Activities Office and at the door the night of the show. RESORT PLAY: Last Season if you bought a ticket for the Resort Play you were to see two plays, but to unforeseen circumstances “NOAH” was not performed. Good News! “NOAH” Will be performed this season on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00pm. To attend please bring a non-perishable food item to the Activities Office in ex- change for a ticket. You may do this the night of the performance however, I only have so many seats, so first come first serve. TALENT SHOW: Our Talent Show is on Tuesday and Wednesday, Febru- ary 18th and 19th at 7pm each night and performances are the same. Tickets are $2 each in the Activities Office and at the door the night of the shows. We may sell out! Come check out your talented residents. I, (your shy, crazy activities director) will even have an act in the show. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Our All The Pancakes You Can Eat Breakfast is on Saturday, February 15th and Saturday, February 29th , from 8-9am in the Front Auditorium. SATURDAY MORNING SOCIALS: Join us at 7:30am for Donuts (.75 each) and Muf-fins ($1.25 each) in the Front Auditorium on Satur-days, February 1st, 8th and 22nd. We have FREE COFFEE for you as well. It’s a great time to visit with your neighbors. If there are any donuts and muffins left over, they will be available in the Ac-tivities Office for you to purchase 9am –noon. It’s been brought up to me by more than a few res-idents that 7:30am is early, especially on a Satur-day morning, they suggested donuts to be at 9am. So I am in need of a VOLUNTEER that will sell donuts and muffins from 8:30am till 9:30 or 10 in the auditorium. If I get a volunteer we will try it and stay in the auditorium later selling them. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Please join us Saturday, February 22nd at 1:30pm for our Ice Cream Social in the Front Auditorium. Make your own Sundae for $2.00 each. GUYS AND GALS GOLF OUTING: This years Golf outing is on Wednes-day, March 11th. Sign-up on Saturday, February 29th at 9:00am in the Card Room. For early registration please see Bill P. or Barry B.

We can do one-on-one help during class or come to your unit to help if that works better for you. We’re always looking for ideas to present to our fellow computer users, and we’ll try to make it en-tertaining and informative. If you have a topic you’d like to hear about, let us know by either con-tacting Doug at [email protected] or Jo Ann ([email protected]). Community Outreach Resort Directory

Page 4 DE SE RT SU N

Our Quilters, Sewing group and Swedish Weaving group have been doing Community Outreach work this season. They are making 400 pillow cases for the Children's Hospital. Since they are making so many they will be donating to other children's or-ganizations in the area. The Swedish Weaving Group have been crocheting the cutest “chemo” hats to donate as well. Thank you for DOING all that you DO to help and those of you that have helped iron the pillow cases.

The Desert Shadows Interdenominational Church will be publishing an updated Directory listing names, telephone numbers, and lot numbers of De-sert Shadows residents. Participation in the direc-tory is voluntary, so we need you to let us know that you are interested in being included. While the church is initiating this project, it is open to all residents of the Resort. Please contact Elaine Stauffer in Lot #124 to arrange for inclusion in the directory. Not sure of deadline date so please do it as soon as possible. Thank you!
