Twas the
night of the
Stuffed
Animal
Sleepover,
the kids had
gone home,
as they
thought the
fun was all
over.
At first the animals thought it was quite scary
to be by
themselves
with no kids
in the
library…
They all sat
together on
the colorful
rug,
to sing
songs, read
a story, and
comfort with
hugs.
Then the
friends they
just made all
ran to the
door,
to see what
was out
there and
what to
explore!
The friends
worked
together to
open the
door.
There was a
whole new
world out on
the
children’s
floor!
They opened
the door, and
what did
they see?
Puzzles,
Play Aways,
Blocks,
…
There’s so much for you and me!
“Let’s go for
a ride,” they
exclaimed
with delight.
We’ll ride
the cart with
our friends,
and we
won’t fight.
They climbed
on the cart
and pushed
the button
just right.
The doors
opened wide.
Simba
pushed with
all his might.
The animals
got off at
floor number
one…..
What is up
here?
Will we see
something
that’s fun?
They found the
book drop.
Oh, please do
not fall in….
We’ve no way to get you.
Only books should go in!
Pooh raced to
the window,
“Come on, let
us go.There are tracks outside. Do you know where they go?
If we wait for awhile,
we may see the train
…or maybe today,
it may just be the rain.”
Simba said,
“I need a
rest.
On the bench
I will sit,
‘Til the elevator comes; So the button, please hit.”
The elevator
came,
and on they
all climbed.
“We are headed to two,” the animals all chimed.
“Oh, my, it’s
Miss Sue’s
office.
She is not here.”
“We can sit on
this bench.
There is nothing
to fear.”
Here are comfy
chairs and
sofas on which
we can sit,
or maybe we should rest and sleep for a bit.
“It is morning,
my friends.
There is much
more to see…”
“Let’s go back
down these
steps.
Please come along with me.”
“There are more
steps to go….”
“Be careful,” I
say.
“One step at a
time…
We are all on
our way.”
“Wow! There
is a water
fountain to
quench our
thirst.”
Lady says
politely, “I’ll
wait. You can
go first.”
“The
computers will
help us find
books of all
kinds.”
“On these we can play games to strengthen our minds.”
“We found books
about families
and all different
kinds.
There are
books about
us. I hope
you don’t
mind.”
“Let’s first check out books, then we will look to see…What else can we do? It’s on the big TV!”
“There’s
Rhyme
Time, and
Toddler
Time, and
Story
Time, too!
There are
a lot of fun
things for
all of usto do!”
“Oh, my! The
kids are
coming back at
1:00.
Let’s get back
to the bench!
Our fun is now
done..”
“Oh, kids, we missed you and your family quite a bit.”
“But the
stuffed animal
sleepover
sure was a
hit.”
“Thank you to
the Upper Allen
Woman’s Club
GFWC
for sponsoring
this event at
the Joseph T.
Simpson
Public
Library!”
“…and we all
thank each of
you for letting
us come.
Can we go
home now?
We missed
everyone!”
