SACFL
God rejoices over the men and women who repent of destroying His little ones. So too God rejoices over a building now reclaimed from destruction to one where souls seek Him. There have been many more successes in the past 40 years that is pointing to an end in sight. In the legislative arena, no state has passed more prolife legislation or removed more tax dollars from funding Planned Parenthood than Texas. A new generation of abolitionists is rising, abortion abolition-ists, as I saw in the Students for Life of America National Conference in Washington, D.C., where over 2,000 students were in attendance. Another area of success that is strengthening the fiber of the prolife movement is the number of new organizations joining the fight, making us more effective than ever. While the death toll is stagger-ing, there is no doubt the exponential successes these years have left “God rejoicing.”
Dear God, we are ready to leave this 40 years of wandering in the desert of death. As You brought the Israelites out of the desert to the Promised Land, we ask you to please show us the way that we might see a day where there is no more fear and no more tears. A day where all of Your tiny, precious masterpieces are protected from the first moment You bring them into existence. Amen.

January 22, 2013: “God rejoicing”January 22, 2013 marked the memorial of the 40th year of legalized abortion in the United States since the Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton court decisions. In that time, there have been over 55 million1 abor-tions – that we know of. 55 million. That’s a huge number. Russian communist Joseph Stalin who was responsible for hundreds of thou-sands of deaths in the “Great Purge” alone, once said that “when one man dies it is a tragedy, when thousands die it’s statistics.”2 This is the mentality we often take as a society in the United States towards abortion. As faithful and hçopeful Christians trusting in God’s plan, we must look for God’s story unfolding amidst the 40 years of destruction. As a result of your participation in the local 40 Days for Life campaigns and our other events, as well as your financial contributions, we have had some great local successes. As of February 2013, we have had over 100 lives spared from abortion that we know of. In the Spring 2013 40 Days for Life we had four lives saved alone.Your efforts standing peacefully and prayerfully and sidewalk coun-seling in front of Reproductive Services abortion facility over the past few years have brought about huge results. In late 2012 this clinic closed down and is now Grace Church, a Korean Bible church. When I visited their service one Sunday, my legs were shaking in nervous-ness as I approached the door. After spending so many hours outside the gate in prayer, it was almost overwhelming to finally walk inside. When I entered and saw the cross of our Lord and heard the music of praise, I felt an immediate peace.Pastor Han’s message that day was entitled “God rejoicing.” He spoke on Luke 15:1-10, the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. Jesus says, “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoic-ing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent (verse 7).” God rejoices over the men and women who repent of destroying His tiny mas-terpieces. So too God rejoices over a building now reclaimed from destruction to one where souls seek Him.
A Prolife New YearI have a confession to make. I have been working actively in the pro life movement for over a decade now and sometimes I feel like we have gotten no closer to ending abortion. Each week brings a new abortion day. To top it all off Planned Parenthood just released its annual report showing a rise in the number of abortions and an over a BILLION dollar profit for this supposed “non-profit” organization.
I am tired.
Isn’t it so easy to get caught up in the “I never” of life? I never get this. I never get that. Sometimes it’s too easy to walk around the world see-ing only the bad and never seeing the glimmer of light that exist just past it. Jesus had to carry His cross, beaten and bruised, all the way up the hill to Calvary where he then had to endure crucifixion! That’s a lot of darkness to walk through before the incredible light of Heaven’s gates. Some of our greatest successes have been born of hardship. The United States of America would not be what it is today if not for the unjust treatment of Britain.
I am getting more hopeful.
A New Year has just begun, and with it comes the customary New Year’s Resolutions. With a re-elected President bent on making abortion as easily accessible as dirt, it can be really easy to get lost in the darkness. We have the blessing of living in the great state of Texas. Last year alone our state successfully passed some of the most pro life legislation seen in a long time. Children have been saved through the new ultrasound laws. Pro Life organizations that support adoption now have access to new funds thanks to the Choose Life license plates. And last, but not least, Planned Parenthood has been defunded by our state! Wow!
I am rejuvenated!
So let’s stop focusing on ending abortion as a whole. Let’s instead look at saving the one. You know what I’m going to say next: we must start with prayer. Then, we take this powerful weapon against the evil of abortion, and we move it to the sidewalk on abortion days. After that we fill the sidewalk, not only on abortion days, but all the business hours of the abortion clinic! We reach out to women before the abor-tion day and to do that, we have to be present on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So here’s my challenge for you: pick a day and time. Now commit to being there! Send us an email and then show up! Now, take it to the next level: invite a friend. I just did.
