Working to attract and grow area business is important at Fayette Electric Cooperative. We know that providing a reason- able deal on electricity helps strengthen businesses in our service area. Obtaining power from a provider like LCRA, which uses a diverse mix of resources to generate electricity is one way FEC helps keep prices stable for customers like Seville Farms. Using a variety of resources like gas, coal, wind and water means we are less dependent on a single energy source when market prices change. By creating partnerships where members can depend on FEC for reliable, competitively priced electricity, businesses can focus on what they do best and we can continue to support the growing communities we serve. Every Day Partnerships Help Our Area Grow — In 1995, LCRA invested in the state’s first commercial scale wind project. It now purchases 116 megawas (MW) of wind power capacity from three West Texas wind farms and continues to look for opportunities to bring more renewable power to its customers. & Seville Farms general manager, Gary Brentlinger, discusses wholesale nursery operations with FEC representative Catherine Poppe. Beginning as a small perennial business in 1996 located in North-Central, Texas, Seville Farms owners, Bobby and Billy Brentlinger, soon found the need to expand and lengthen their growing season. In 2008 they completed construction on 40 acres near Engle, Texas.
