Something to do on a Friday night
Among the many diverse food & nutrition-conscious activities
delivered by

feeding the homeless in Central London.
We share food unconditionally with anyone who passes by our tables regardless of race, faith,
gender, age, etc.

NEW TESTAMENT
• Matthew 25:35-40New International Version (NIV)• 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty
and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
• 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
• 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Holy Scriptures

life.”

“Charity--to be moved at the sight of the thirsty, the hungry, and the miserable and to offer relief to them out
of pity--is the spring of virtue.”
Hinduism. Rig Veda 10.117.1-6
“He who, possessed of food, hardens his heartagainst the weak man, hungry and suffering,
who comes to him for help, though of old he helped him--
surely he finds none to console him.He is liberal who gives to anyone who asks for alms,
to the homeless, distressed man who seeks food;success comes to him in the challenge of battle,
and for future conflicts he makes an ally.”
OUR STARTING POINT“MERCY TABLES”
• The 11th century Islamic scholar, and jurist, Imam Al Ghazali, was one of the greatest scholars of the Golden Age.
• In his book “On The Manners Of Eating”, he speaks of Muslims who went out on the streets and set up tables to feed the poor, these were known as “Mercy Tables”

Its All About Perspective
• Another inspiration was the Conservative Party’s Big Society ,which seemed to offer faith based organizations an opportunity to pick up the slack where the government was deferring responsibility to local rather than national organizations.

How do we use our talents?
Karimah’s Cuisina, the faith based well being organisation
We all have talents however its good to
have balance and use our talents for
our self and families as well as for the
less fortunate.
Its Always Been About Quality• The Holy Quran…• SURAT/CHAPTER2 AL BAQARA
AYAT/VERSE 267• “you who have believed, spend
from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.”

include quality of delivery and service, the Creator will provide.
Wealth is a testWhen The Higher Power sees and funders
see that we do good things when entrusted with wealth then we get more insha’allah
Sobering Thought Over ChristmasThe charity Crisis sets up two weeks shelter over Christmas, so our regular service users were not on the streets , so we
adopted guerrilla tactics and went into subways, back streets and shop doorways. Boxing day evening it was freezing and this family was hooded up and asleep in their sleeping bags as we and others, left food for them.
