The class of Tajweed is very essential as we are taught how to read the Quran in

the appropriate (Ma’aroof) manner. Recitation of the Quran requires that we

pronounce each letter correctly and as it has been revealed in Arabic which we

don’t understand, it becomes all the more important.

Ma’am has become a medium for us to learn Tajweed. She is punctual and wants

us all to be disciplined. She listens to us individually and also makes use of

blackboard to illustrate various examples from Quran. I want this class to continue

Being in a materialistic word where the aim of knowledge (ilm) has become only

to gain worldly gains, this Tajweed class has some other objective. The perspective

of every student including me attending the Tajweed class is nothing but to please

the one and only creator, Allah swt, through our little effort. (may Allah swt

protect us from Riyakkari and Takabbur).

True to her name ‘Iqra’ the Tajweed teacher is playing a significant role in

inculcating the knowledge in her students. Masha Allah she is very punctual and is

concerned about each and every student. The way of her teaching is very attentive

as she focuses on every student individually (May Allah swt accept her effort and

reward her Jannat ul Firdaus).

A suggestion I would like to give is that we would also be immensely happy if we

would get some Quranic Arabic (Language) classes if possible. As it is the only

Many of us read Quran but according to me, as I read it before joining

Baseerat Ma’am’ class, a lot of mistakes were done. So there are very

few Muslims who read it properly. But Alhamdulillah, there is a strong

step of the KAN Quran Centre for appointing Ma’am for this and made

it convenient for us.

The teaching way of ma’am is MashaAllah very good. As she teaches us

Words not do justice to the deep sense of gratitude I want to express

First of all I would like to thank Almighty Allah Who bestowed us with

this golden opportunity to learn and improve our Quranic tajweed

through Nizami Quranic Centre. This Centre has taken an initiative to

organize Quranic tajweed classes in some of the halls of Aligarh

Muslim University within hall itself at a feasible time with students as

teachers.

The Centre has appointed Miss Basirat at BSJ hall. She puts in her

best efforts to teach and make the students understand tajweed in an

easy manner. Often she conducts test for tajweed so that students

can memorize and learn in an efficient way. Ma’am gives extra time and

attention to weak students. Maam makes sure that everyone in the

class understands and follows she keeps a record of students

attendance. In spite of her health issue she is very regular and

punctual. Moreover, she also gives us lectures on moral values.

Initially I was not aware how to read Quran with tajweed. By taking

these classes has given me an opportunity to learn tajweed. After

attending these classes so far now I am able to read Quran in a

My name is Sadaf Khan of Class MSC IInd year Ag. Microbiology and as

a resident of Begum Sultan Jahan Hall & also being a student of

Baseerat Mam’s class I have to say these words with respect to my

mam & my class that has been conducted by Nizami Quranic Centre.

As a follower of Islam & Ummat of Huzoor Salaiallahualaihi Wassalam

this is compulsory for each and every Muslim to learn how to read

Quran in a correct way and that is not possible without learn the

Tajweed of Quran. It was my wish to learn Tajweed of Quran. Allah

gave this opportunity to me in the form of Baseerat Mam’s class. Now I

have completed my two & half month of Quranic class. Between this

two & half month mam has completed Noorani qaayda & Amma parah

(Juz 30 of the Quran). Exercise is going on from the first day of class.

Mam was very regular on each & everyday even she came before us and

also take attendance everyday to know the presence of each & every

student & also worried about the absence of students on any day. She

is a very kind hearted person. She requested students to learn

makharaj of all 29 Arabic letters that has been taught by her. I learnt

each & every rule of Tajweed, makhraj of 29 Arabic letters. In the

class she has also taught daily life Hadith that was incredible and in

valuable for me. After joining the Baseerat Mam’s class it possible for

me Alhamdulillah I learnt all the Makhraj & rules of Tajweed because

of my Mam’s effort. She behaves very sweetly that’s why each & every

student never hesitates to ask any question about Tajweed. Even

students share our daily life problem with mam & mam gives solution to

there on the basis of the Quran. This is my wish to take more and more

lessons from Mam because Mam has wonderful qirat that motivates me

to improve our qirat and read the Quran as it should be read. I am

highly thankful to Quranic Centre that provided me and all the

students such a hard working teacher “Baseerat Mam”.

Feedback for the Tajweed Class

Al’Quran is the guidance for the human beings of this world which is

full of message gifted by Allah through Jibraiel Aleh Salam to the last

messenger Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Through Qu’ran Allah showed us

the proper direction of our life and how to behave with each other and

what should we do for the life after death. Since, it is the Qu’ran

which gives information about how to lead our life style after Prophet

SAW has gone, as a Muslim it is our prime duty to know that knowledge

and beauties of the Qu’ran. Therefore, we should know the basics i.e.

the language of the holy Qu’ran. To grasp the Quranic language,

Tajweed class is very essential for every Muslims. In Begum Sultan Hall

Tajweed class is taught by Ms. Basirat Fatima. She teaches us the art

of Tajweed i.e. how to recite the Qu’ran properly and what is its

importance and how it benefits us in our everyday life. She started

this class with the roots of Qu’ranic language i.e. with Nurani Qa’yedah

in the beginning of Sept. 2018. She teaches us in this class very

sincerely and carefully. She explains every chapter of this Qa’yedah

vey constructively. She checks every student of this class about their

learning in this class and shows where they make mistakes and how to

correct it. She is very punctual about her time. Everyday she comes in

the class in proper time and after the end of the class she waits for

half an hour. In that time any student can ask about their doubts and

she is always ready to help them. Within a very short time (nearly two

months) we have finished Qa’yedah and we have started Amma Para

(Juz 30) by her help.

Tajweed class in BSJ Hall gives as an opportunity to learn how to

recite the Qu’ran properly and to know about the Qu’ran. It is very

difficult for us to find extra time in our busy schedule and to go for

Tajweed class outside the hostel. There should be a Tajweed class in

every Girl’s hostel at AMU, so that students along with their courses

can learn the Quran and to recite it properly and as a Muslim to

understand its necessity in our everyday life.

My name is Ghazala Shamim, I am a student of Tajweed class I am highly thankful

to Sadia ma’am for her Tajweed Classes. She teaches us really well and is very

loyal towards her work. She not only teacher us but guides us tells us all important

things. My pronunciation, reading skills are very good now. Her way of teaching is

really nice. She is punctual and this leads to gaining more interest towards classes.
