Witbank, South Arica.

FLSmidth has extensive experience in the

design, development, manuacture and

servicing o eeder-breakers.

Feeder-breakers are used mainly in

underground mining o products such as

coal and potash. The original Bualo Feeder

Breaker was developed and successully

introduced into coal mines in 1975.

Constant product development and

innovation has ensured that the Bualo

Feeder Breaker has become an industry

standard.

The Feeder Breaker is traditionally used

between the mobile mining machinery

and the xed conveyor systems. The main

unction o the Feeder Breaker is to reduce

the product down to a manageable size and

smooth the fow on to the mines conveyor

belts.

Although a standard range o Bualo

Feeder Breakers is available, FLSmidth

Bualo custom designs and builds eeder

breakers according to the specic mines

requirements in terms o through fow,

product size, ancillary machinery and mining

conditions.

FLSmidth Bualo Feeder Breakers are robust,

modular and highly reliable. Machines are

built around a standard pool o sub systems

and components to ensure a high degree o

inter changeability, modular replacement,

low spares and stock holding, thus oering

a very high availability to its users.

The low maintenance required and cost

eectiveness o the Bualo Feeder Breaker

has made the Bualo legendary.

The eeder section oers the unique Bualo

dual fightless conveyor chain arrangement

with major advantages over the more

traditional fight conveyor system as used in

most other Feeder Breaker designs.

The advantages are longer chain lie, better

size control and the capacity to run either

or both the dual conveyor systems. Unlike

other eeder breakers, the Bualo FeederBreaker need not be manually ofoaded in

the unusual case o a chain ailure.

used primarily in open pit coal mining

applications.

In open pit mining a Feeder is oten needed

at the tip point under the reception hopper

prior to the primary crushing stage. Bualo

Feeders are highly robust and use low head

room. The Feeders are suitable or eeding

product and waste rom a tip hopper acility.

The Feeders are also o a simple

maintenance riendly construction that can

be serviced on site or in our repair acility.

used primarily in stock pile reclaim acilities

at coal mines or in the coal yard at power

stations. The Feeders and Feeder Breakers

are also used or the clearing o tip hoppers

into which loads rom side-tip coal trucks

are received.

In coal stock yard high capacities o coal

must be ed onto a conveyor belt. Bualo

Feeders and Feeder Breakers are designed

to be ed by either truck, ront end loader

or dozer without the investment in high

concrete walls or such a tip acility.

The Feeders are also o simple maintenance

riendly construction that can be serviced on

site or in our repair acility.

o low speed Sizers at the FLSmidth Bualo

and FLSmidth ABON acilities.

The FLSmidth Minerals low speed sizing

principle involves the combination o high

torque and low roll speeds with varying

tooth proles to arrive at specied end

product sizes with a minimum o nes

creation.

The roll speeds on FLSmidth Minerals Sizers

are as low as 15rpm. General eatures o
