Feel the beat is a talent show for street and hip hop dancers from across the world. The show is hosted by Ashley Banjo from

Diversity winners of Britain’s got talent 2009. The judges are highly trained professionals who have also competed in reality dance shows. There are three judges Rino Nakasone from the Beat Freakz (who where in Americas Best Dance Crew) she is

also Gwen Stefani's back up dancer, Phillip Chebeeb (from SYTYCD USA) and Mark Calape from Animaineax (who were in

Move Like Michael Jackson and SYTYCD). The show will be searching for the best talent in the world.

Rules:The rules are any one from the age 16+ can compete as

either a solo or in a group. They have to do hip-hop or street dancing, and each country can only have one act representing them. They’ll have to go through auditions and impress the judges. The auditions will take up three shows and the judges pick who get through to the live

shows. When the final 12 are chosen, 6 of the acts will pick a draw. This will determine their partner who they will

have to pair up with until they are voted out by the public or get to the final. Each show will feature a famous

choreographer that will help them all. There will be 6 live shows at the end of each show the pair with the least

votes will be eliminated. In the finals the last two standing will have to battle against each other. The life changing

prize is $100,000, a chance to be featured in a new music video and have their own dance studio back in their

country. Each act are representing their country so they can’t let them down and they’ve got to work together to get to the finals. Only the best get to prove that they can

‘’Feel The Beat’’.

• On a previous So You Think You Can Dance contestant he admired and now relates to: 

Hok, he actually got cut in the exact same place I did, we actually talked last night about it and were sharing the emotions behind it. He was just one of those people who I really looked up to but got caught right up before the Top 10. 

On the fear and expectations of making the Top 20:

I think I always knew it was going to be difficult. Even when I was on green mile and i was waiting to find out if I made the Top 20, I was already scared of making the Top 20. 

On the highlight of his time on the So You Think You Can Dance stage:

I think the greatest feeling that I had on stage, was during the "Love Lockdown" piece, just because, oh my gosh the things that went wrong with that piece that people didn't get to see. Is outrageous. Even in the dress rehearsal, like 20 minutes before, the chain broke. It looked easy on the video, because we never made a mistake on it, but one step on that chain and we were out. It was definitely one of the most stressful, but the coolest feeling to push through that. 

On what he's most disappointed to miss now that he's out of the competition:

I was really excited to see if Wade and Mia could use the way I move and pull something out of it and make something beautiful. 

On the closeness of the cast:

We're more close than i think people realize. This season for sure, the top six guys are like best friends. So it was really sad to say goodbye. You become closer than you could even expect, in such a short amount of time it's kind of outrageous. 

On his advice for whoever works with his former partner Jeanine:

Let her be her, because she talks through a lot of things. Listen to her and enjoy her presence. 

On learning of his fan favorite and inspirational status:

Honestly, this may be surprising, but none of us actually catch wind of all the craziness here. But we don't really understand the depths of what we're doing here. We're so caught up in this world that we don't see the influence we have on other people until we get out.Which I'm starting to see now. It's nice to hear actually... 

I'm really glad, because honestly that's the main reason why I came on this show. I feel like there are certain people made perfectly as a vessel for someone to choreograph, their strength is adapting. I feel like I cam on this show knowing I'm a mental, more mind oriented person. I'm more of a creator type person. I know that choreography is more of my avenue, I'm definitely going to be perusing that and hopefully getting back and choreographing hip hop in a couple of years.

Phillip Chbeeb Q&A

When did you first fall in love with music and dancing? 

Ever since I was born!! It's was so natural in me. 

 You worked on the 2004 film "You Got Served". What was that like? 

So much fun!!! It was a lot of dancers with different groups and I was just so excited and inspired to do my first movie. But nothing makes me happier than the fact that my crew in this movie was my future crew, "Beat Freaks!" 

From 2004 to 2005 you became "Music" of Gwenn Stefani's "Harajuku Girls." How did that come about? 

I was just lucky that Gwen found me! 

What was it like working with Gwenn? 

One of the best experiences ever. I mean, EVER. I became a fan of hers after working with her because she is so talented and beautiful inside and out. She is very professional, down to earth and always puts her heart into it. 

Gwenn Stefani's fans clearly loved the awesome performances the Harajuku Girls brought to the shows and videos. Do you have some favorite memories of those times? 

My favorite time was during the "Sweet Escape Tour." By then all of us were so close and we got to go around the world together. That was the best! 

Some of your other projects include Best Kept Secret and Beat Freaks. Tell us a little about each. 

Best Kept Secret was created by Chonique and Lisette, who have been some of the biggest inspirations in my life, and we use to perform every week at this event in Santa Monica. It's a funky and sexy style at the same time and I really enjoyed and learned a lot from them. 

Beat Freaks is my crew which is formed by 8 female dancers. Everyone brings a different style of Hip-Hop such as breaking, popping, locking, house and some of us are even technical in modern and ballet. We are all good friends and I am a fan of each and every member. We are currently on America's Best Dance Crew on MTV. 

What are the future plans for Beat Freaks? 

Hopefully a lot to come! We still need to figure some things out but of course we will be teaching and doing some shows in different states or countries, etc. So please stay in touch with us at thebeatfreaks.com.

 

Rino Nakasone Razalan Q&A

Though he is self-taught, Mark has also been taught by some of the best in the business from Brian Green to Yoshi. He has also worked for some of the best dance companies in the industry such as Zoo Nation and the Pink Mafia where they have allowed him to build his training up and learn more constructive Hip Hop routines. Mark described dance as “a feeling” that he wants to bring to other people, rather than dance being just a routine.

Viewers may have recently seen Mark on the BBC 3 series Move Like Michael Jackson, with his crew The Animaineax’s who won the show and will get to perform at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in London. Mark has great plans for the future in which he wants to expand his dance company to a global scale and have a variety of studios around the world which he will be able to go to a from, to teach new skills to dancers.

As a dancer Mark has performed with the All Saints and the Sugababes and has recently performed in the much acclaimed West End show ‘Into the Hoods’. Mark has also been fortunate enough to have danced at the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday celebrations.

The Animaineax’s with Mark appeared as dancers in Jay Sean’s “Down” Video which was a Number 1 in America.
