Hostel Fee:

Hostel Charges including food (as per Indian students) – $85 / Rs. 5,525/- per month - to be paid per semester in advance (Accommodation with Non AC Double / Triple Sharing Basis with Veg. / Non Veg. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Hostel Admission (One Time) – $80 / Rs. 5,200 -to be paid at the time of admission.

FAQ: PIO / Foreign National Students

In campus accommodation

Students from these institutes are given accommodation on the campus. There are separate hostel

wings for boys and girl students. The non-AC self-contained rooms are offered on twin sharing. The

mess is located in the same building providing vegetarian / non vegetarian food. There is a provision

of self - operated laundry, gymnasium and few other recreational facilities.

What are the facilities available in the room?

These non-AC rooms offered on twin sharing are provided. A bed, writing table, chair and a cupboard

is provided for individual students. The rooms have Wi-Fi connectivity and students can access the

internet from their own Laptops.

Can a student move straight to the hostel room on arrival in Kolkata?

No. On arrival, students are required to make their own arrangements till the time they get the campus

accommodation. Only after the student has completed the admission formalities / registration as

mentioned in the confirmed admission letter, will a student be permitted to move into the hostel.

What type of food is available on the campus??

Veg / Non Veg is allowed on Campus. In addition to the hostel mess, there are canteen that offer a

variety of food. Being in the heart of the city, students can enjoy food of their choice in the various

restaurants outside the campus.

What medical facilities are available to students admitted at JIS College of Engineering?

We have medical post in the college, where a doctor is available during working hours. Also Govt.

Medical College and Hospital which is located approximately 2 km from the campus where the

students can receive treatment at subsidized fees.

How is the Campus Recruitment?

Most of the students receive job offers during their final year. Compulsory Industrial Training for all

students.

Registration at FRO:

It is part of the normal mandatory process that all foreign students holding foreign citizenship have

to register with the Foreigner's Registration Office (FRO) within the stipulated time frame of their

arrival in India. A student who is a PIO/OCI Card holder is also required to register with the FRO. JIS

College of Engineering will provide the necessary assistance in this regard.

RULES FOR FEES

1. Hostel accommodation will be provided subject to availability of seats.

2. No student will be allowed to take admission or leave the Hostel in mid-session of any semester unless

otherwise directed.

3. Admission to Hostel will be made only in the month of December & June every year, subject to

availability of seats and the Institute reserves the right to accept or reject any application without

assigning any reason.

4. Hostel seat rents are payable on 6 months basis by Demand Draft of Rs.33000/- in favour of JIS

College of Engineering, Hostel A/c payable at Kolkata.

5. Only Caution Deposit is refundable.

6. Caution Deposit will be refunded only after the student passes the Final Examination.

7. Students should register themselves for Soft Skill Training (Optional) . Training fees of Rs.4,000/-

have to be deposited separately along with Tuition fees of 3rd

, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th semesters

8. Students registration fees for Student Life Center @ Rs.500/-, are payable separately and to be paid

with the semester fees of 2nd, 4th and 6

th semesters.

9. University Development Fees and University Registration Fees are to paid separately as per university

regulation during 1st semester.

10. Tuition Fees for Odd Semester to be paid by 15th

June

11. Tuition Fees for Even Semester to be paid by 15th

December

12. Late fine will be charged as per norms of the Institute for any delay in payment of Semester Fees
