The Peltier thermoelectric ACH is the world’s first and only portable air conditioned helmet. The prototype weights less than 16 ounces more than a conventional helmet. Production

ACHs will be even lighter. The ACH will run for approximately45 minutes per pound of nickel metal hydride battery, longer with lithium,

for military, law enforcement, fire fighting, and other appropriate applications, and can be powered by the 12 V electrical systems of motorcycles and racecars.

ACH also has a heating mode in addition to its exclusive cooling mode, which makes it useful in cold weather.
