Fellowships and Scholarships for Graduate Study and Post-graduate Opportunities Middlebury’s fellowships office manages a small number of opportunities, many requiring institutional endorsement. This list--though by no means comprehensive--provides a selection of additional fellowship and related opportunities. These are “direct apply” opportunities (unless otherwise noted), meaning that you apply directly to the fellowship sponsor organization. The opportunities are grouped in the following categories:
● Databases and Other Resources ● Graduate Program Funding ● Teaching in the U.S. ● Teaching Outside the U.S. ● Community and Service Fellowships ● Fellowships/Study Abroad ● Fellowships-- Professional Experiences ● Summer Opportunities
Information and linked will be checked annually. If you find a broken link or erroneous information, please contact us at [email protected] . Links were last checked in July, 2018. This list will require a bit of patient reading and further research, but we hope will be a help to our students and alumni looking for a variety of opportunities for research, graduate study support and opportunities to teach abroad.
Databases of fellowships and other resources
● Try the database maintained by the Michigan State University Libraries of grants to individuals: http://staff.lib.msu.edu/harris23/grants/3subject.htm . There, try every heading which might apply to you and/or to what you're hoping fund: with fellowships, a keyword search probably won't work (or at least will miss lots of great options), so you need to read carefully and be creative.
● Profellow.com is a commercial database with a search interface that allows you to obtain more customized results. You do not need to purchase their advising services to use their database.
● Scholarships for Development is a site for students from developing countries and/or anyone interested in studying development: http://www.scholars4dev.com/
● Resources for undocumented students include lists put together by Educators for Fair Consideration (E4FC), and by Pre-Health Dreamers for students interested in pursuing health and science careers: http://e4fc.org/graduateresources.html and http://e4fc.org/graduateresources.html . MALDEF also has a large fellowship guide at http://www.maldef.org/leadership/scholarships/index.html .

● Opportunities for non-US citizens see Selected Funding Opportunities Open to Non-U.S. Citizens: http://www.iup.edu/WorkArea/linkit.aspx?LinkIdentifier=id&ItemID=56 This list of scholarships is for non-U.S. citizens of diverse ethnicities. Includes scholarships that fund undergraduate and graduate work in the U.S. and abroad, prepared by the National Association of Fellowship Advisors.
