Sunday morning meditationsSunday morning meditationsSunday morning meditations “...Sit and rest and refresh your soul. Eat of the fruit and drink the wine.

All, all is yours, and you are welcome.” —The Science of Mind text It’s led by practitioner Malené Njeri, it lasts for 35 minutes, end‐ing in time to comfortably get into the 11am celebration. There is music to enhance as you are guided into a restful state, and inspirational readings to tap into your spiritual center. Most sessions will end with a spiritual mind treatment based on the theme of the readings. Don’t be concerned about being late. There is an easy way to quickly get into the flow. Stand a mo‐

ment outside the door and bring yourself to complete silence. Maintain that silence as you enter. You’ll find yourself suddenly present in the meditation and all is well. SUNDAYS 10:15‐10:50AM, in the Hopkins Room, on the second floor of the Learning Center. More information: [email protected]@[email protected]

George Ensle is a vet‐eran Texas singer in his hometown, Houston, at such venerable clubs as the Sand Mountain Coffeehouse and the

original Old Quarter, sharing stages with legendary greats Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Billie Joe Shaver. He was awarded prestigious federal govern‐ment grants to be an Artist‐in‐Schools, teaching songwriting and the creative process to young stu‐dents. George has won songwriting awards from the American Song Fes‐tival, the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Music Umbrella, and the Austin Song‐writers Group. In 2008 he was nomi‐nated for Singer/Songwriter of the Year by the Texas Music Academy. His songs have been recorded by Gary P. Nunn, Bob Cheevers, Will T. Massey, and Jeff Talmadge to name a few. He has released five albums. George has a unique fingerpicking style originating from his classical guitar training and honed over the years to flow seamlessly with his lyrics. Hear him SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20.

On Terri Hendrix’s new album, Cry Till You Laugh, the award‐winning Texas songwriter spins sorrow into joy and wrings wisdom from the blues

with the poetic grace and uplifting melodic flair that has long been her trademark. A classically trained vocal‐ist and deft multi‐instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin and harmonica), Hendrix works alongside legendary producer Lloyd Maines (guitar, do‐bro, pedal steel), weaving folk, pop, country, blues and swinging jazz into an eclectic style all her own. To date, Hendrix has released 14 albums on her own Wilory Records label. In the fall of 2011, she published the second edition of her first book. In addition to writing and performing, Hendrix conducts songwriting workshops and is establishing a nonprofit community arts center called the OYOU in San Marcos, offering educational and therapeutic programs, including for those who face neurological chal‐lenges or physical disabilities. Terri and Lloyd visit us again on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 9:30 & 11AM.

Trust & Manifest Your Bliss Trust & Manifest Your Bliss Trust & Manifest Your Bliss workshopworkshopworkshop “The workshop was exactly what I needed! It helped to ground me and renew my spirit. Blase and Rose Anne are truly gifted in creating the kind of space that allowed me to access my creativity.” —Lynn Matlock, Tucson, Arizona Blase and Rose Anne Sands will present a four‐hour workshop at

Creative Life Spiritual Center based on their book Trust & Manifest Your Bliss, on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1‐5PM. The workshop will include short talks, guided meditations and manifestation exercises as well as a chance to share. The presenters have been practicing the art and science of manifesting — creating the life of their dreams — for a long time now. Through their own experience, they have learned that when we have faith and keep our vibrations high, we can indeed transform ourselves and have the life we want. And when we lift ourselves, we help to lift the world. Blase and Rose Anne will share stories, rehearse the process — how to do it — and look at what gets in the way. The workshop will provide a focused time and envi‐ronment to work on our visions and goals with the sup‐port of the leaders and the group. Cost is $65, and the book will be on sale at a discount of $10 for workshop participants. You may sign up in Builders’ Hall.

“The workshop led by Roseanne and Blase blessed me with experiences that will continue to nurture me for a lifetime.” —Ty Sheppard, Ashland, Oregon

“The workshop I attended was very dynamic. Blase and Roseanne are wonderful facilitators — they open their hearts to you with love, peace and gratitude.” —Misty Reese, Houston, Texas

“I had a delightful time and it was just what I needed. The exercises were creative, thought provoking and self‐reflective.” —Janice Foster, Houston, Texas

“Blase and Roseanne provided a wonderful space for me to create a vision for my business. Much to my surprise, the following week I received a phone call opening the door for my vision to manifest. I am now working in a center which has all the important elements I envisioned during the workshop.” —Darrell Hicks, Tucson, Arizona

Buddy Backpack Buddy Backpack Buddy Backpack now in its second yearnow in its second yearnow in its second year!!!

Many thanks to Sean‐Michael Hazuda, President and CEO of the Montgomery County Food Bank, who delivered a stirring talk during our 11am service on

August 18th. Our commitment to their “Buddy Backpack Program” is to feed 15 young students every weekend throughout the school year. Last school year we fed ten. These kids are selected by their schools as having this need, and every Friday they go home with a backpack discreetly filled with specially selected food to last them the weekend. They return the empty backpack to school on Monday, and the process repeats itself. Our pro‐gram coordinator is Carol Stromatt, standing in temporarily for Alline Dawson, who led the program from its inception here, leading the steer‐ing committee of Ruth Catalogna, Jesse Jennings, Marsha Lehman, Michael Martin and Sandy Tramel. There are several ways you can help: by donating cash or WalMart cards (only ‐‐ no checks, please, or generic gift cards); by helping to assemble the food we purchase for delivery to the Food Bank (this will probably happen FRIDAY mornings or after‐noons); and by assisting on the deliv‐ery team to the Food Bank, which is relocating to new headquarters off 242. Please be clear, we do not need you to bring food items. These must be purchased according to a very specific protocol, and we have a team in place to do that. With any questions, or to volunteer to help in any way, please e‐mail

what we dowhat we dowhat we do The CLC Children’s and Youth Ser‐vices Department is devoted to cele‐brating the spiritual development of each child we teach. All age groups are involved in various activities, workshops, and special projects incorporating the teachings of Science of Mind. We strive to create an atmosphere of love and kindness in our words and actions toward each other and to recognize and honor the diversity of every person. • • • Toddlers (up to age 3) are lovingly cared for by our toddler teachers. In their very artistically designed Discov‐ery Room, the children are encour‐aged to interact and experience their world as only a toddler can. They are offered games, toys, books and other age‐appropriate activities in a safe, secure and loving environment. • • • 3‐6 age group. Beginning around the age of 3, our toddlers are moved to the Ingenuity Room. This group begins to learn the basics of Treat‐ment and the value of giving a smile and a kind word. Our creative teach‐ers provide age‐appropriate instruc‐tion and activities. • • • 7‐11 age group are in the Quimby Room. This group regularly practices the steps of Treatment presented in a manner appropriate to their age group. The teachers provide learning tools, creative projects, workshops and other teaching methods to engage each child’s learning of the principles of Science of Mind. • • • 12‐and‐up age group meet on the second floor of the Learning Center in the Hopkins classroom. They are engaged in special projects, work‐shops, have guest speakers and are involved in several volunteer service endeavors at CLC. The teachers work‐ing with this group encourage their talents, keep them engaged in learn‐ing Science of Mind principles and we throw in a bit of fun along the way! Halloween 2009

About PractitionersAbout PractitionersAbout Practitioners “A practitioner must continuously be conscious that all the Good there is, is his; not some part of It but all of It. It is not only available; It is workable. It is not only ever‐present; It always responds to him.” “The practitioner does not supply the mold of thought for his patient in any instance. She merely realizes that the mold which his patient supplies is filled by the Substance which forever flows into form. Therefore the practitioner has no personal responsibility. It is her business to realize the flow of Substance; it is the privilege of the patient to receive that Substance in the form of his own desire.” “This practice would be impossible unless the practitioner could sincerely and truthfully resolve things into thought in his own imagination and proceed upon the basis that all manifest life is a thing of thought in form.” “There is something about this that makes only people who believe in spiritual things good practitioners. Only people who have a great love for people make good practitioners. Only people whose tolerance has passed into understanding make good practitioners. Only people who have a natural or developed inclination and a conscious and subjective ability to feel the invisible make good practitioners.” “It is only the one who is able to abandon himself with a complete surren‐der to the genius of that spark of consciousness which seemed to come with us, that we had nothing to do with, who makes the best healer.”

—selected and adapted from the writings of ERNEST HOLMES

Our Creative Life practitioners are outstanding spiritual support per‐sons, available to lovingly and confi‐dentially assist you, and are at your service. Each has spent hundreds of hours in training, to direct natural compassion into helping you through listening, caring, and using spiritual mind treatment — affirmative prayer — to reveal the truth of you that is greater than any apparent limitation. Each is licensed by the Centers for Spiritual Living, and engages in ongoing study and spiritual develop‐ment. Have a new goal, an old problem, or a question about apply‐ing our teaching? Work with a practi‐tioner and watch what happens with conscious use of the Law of Mind!
