1. “Fairs of Flower”, what is it?La Feria de las Flores is a massive block party and held for 10 days every year in Medellin, Colombia.

This fair is the most symbolic celebration of the city, which is an icon raizal, cultural and historical. The carnival atmosphere during these days lives Medellin offers a wide diversity of events and shows.

2. What was the origin of “Fairs of Flower”?Each year, thousands of people gather around this event, designed to remember, celebrate and perpetuate the values of Antioquia. The party has the intimacy of the paisa culture, and celebrates the flowering and customs of caste and regional race and, in general, the whole life of the region. All framed in the evergreen odor, carnations, sunflowers or orchids. The activities that give life to the Flower Fair are multiple. There is usually more than 130 holiday events, including musical tablados all districts of the city, especially the most popular.

 3. When is celebrated the “Fairs of Flower”? The Flower Fair takes place between the months of July and August. Addition of Antioquia, this colossal event attracts thousands of tourists that visit Medellin in those days, turning the city into a vibrant space decked out with people, besides, of course, flowers, joy, peace and fun. This Carnival, Medellin, the "City of Eternal Spring", is immersed for 54 years in its deepest nature and culture, through which its inhabitants remember, enjoy and continue to take pride in the valuable traditional elements of their particular world.

4. Who participates in The “Fairs of Flower”?Each year thousands of people gather around the celebration, remembrance and the values of all the region of Antioquia which celebrates the blossoming of race and their customs. Of life itself. Immortelle of odors to Clavel, to Sunflower or Orchid.

As is customary each year, down from the village of Santa Elena hundreds of farmers lugging magnificent and colorful works: their saddles. The most beautiful demonstrations of love for the land, culture and tradition of a people for whom flowers have been part of their development.

                   Types of saddles1. Flagship Saddle: You have a civic or educational message, is made with flowers glued or nailed in such a way that no cardboard or styrofoam see where they go on.

2. saddle monumentalIt is characterized by being carried bouquets of flowers placed on integers. Must be at least four different varieties of flowers, gladiolus well be obligatory and / or spikes around.

3. traditional saddleThis saddle was used by the farmers who sold at the beginning of the century, the flowers on the streets of Medellin and the Placita de Flores.
