    The Intensive Facilities Engineering

Training Program (FETP) is a practical

    capacity enhancement series designed

    for engineering and Science graduates

who are interested in pursuing or

enhancing careers in the Oil & Gas

Industry. The program is alsoexcellent for entrepreneurs and

industrialists with a vision to take ad-

vantage of the huge opportunities in

    the Upstream and Downstream

    sector.

In terms of STRUCTURE, the courses

    are designed to facilitate practical

    learning of the fundamental and

    foundational engineering principles,

practice and application in the Oil &

    Gas Process and facilities engineering

    design, construction, project manage-

    ment and operations.

    Participants are introduced to practical

    and direct process and facilities

    engineering design practices. The key

    considerations that differentiate

    undergraduate academic learning proc-

ess from Industrial engineering judge-ment are duly communicated.

The FETP courses cover Oil & Gas

    Exploration, Production, Refining &

    Processing, Distribution and Utiliza-

    tion. From Seis-mic Exploration

    to Drilling, Com-

    pletions and Pro-

    duction systems,

    facilities covered include Onshore and

    Onshore Drilling and Drilling Rigs,

    Wellheads, Wellhead Platforms, Pro-

    duction Platforms, Flowstations, Com-

pression Facilities and Oil Treating and

    Handling Terminals. Others include

Gas Processing Plants such as LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas), LPG(Liquefied

    Petroleum Gases),

    GTL (Gas To Liq-

    uids) are also cov-

    ered.

    The programs

    courses also cover

    Storage and Distribu-

    tion systems such as

    Pipelines, Oil Product

Tank Farms (PMS,AGO, DPK, LPFO, etc), LPG Storage

and Filling Terminals and Natural Gas

    feed Fertilizer plants.

    Our capacity development philosophy

    recognizes that although industry appli-

    cation software such as AutoCAD,

    PDMS, Aspen HYSYS, OFFPIPE, CAE-

SAR II, and ProSIM are computer tools

that enhance the speed and accuracy

    of delivering engineering expertise and

solutions, they do not replace core

    engineering design fundamentals with-

out which the software has very little

    value.

    Foundational courses such as FETP001

    equip participants with very valuable

    value engineering knowledge that

makes it so much simpler and easier

    to effectively use engineering software

    to provide exceptional solutions in

    advanced courses.

Our courses also emphasize the im-

    portance of effective presentation and

    communication skills which the com-

plete professional needs to gain leader-ship and team membership support at

work or as project execution team

    member.

    For enhanced learning and exposure,

    our trainees work with experienced

professionals on real projects thus sig-

    nificantly increasing the effectiveness of

    the learning process.

The FETP Program developers, EPCMEngineers have also developed a pro-

    gram partnership and

    sponsorship process

    resulting in subsidized

    course fees to in-

    crease the afforda-

    bility by individuals

    for self paced skills

    and competency de-

    velopment. Our part-

    ners also provide

    employment opportunities for top per-

    forming program graduates.

The core instruction team has a

    combined working experience of over

140 active years in the Oil & Gas

    Facilities Engineering field covering

    Onshore, Offshore Exploration &

    Production covering Design,

    Procurement, Construction, Operations

and Project Management. They alsohave significant exper ience in down-

    stream processes from Refineries

    through LPG/LNG Plants and Oil

    Product Tank Farms.

    All our courses involve extensive

    exercises, practical project work and

    completion tests. Certificates of com-

pletion are awarded to candidates who

    pass the qualification tests.

The next course planned is the FETP

    001 starting January 11, 2010.

It has proved to be a well plannedcourse. One where forethought

and needs (expected) of partici-pants were factored in.

It has been a fulfilling week for mewith lots of new ideas and oppor-tunities made clearer

The program is a MUST-DO forall prospective facility engineers/practicing engineers, so the addshould have been more aggressive

with the level of exposure I have

    Very Educative, both informally and

    formally

    Modules were very knowledgeable,

    had depth

Personally, helps me appreciate theprocess/operations of an oil and gasfacility whilst also broadening myability to cross to another field such

    as facility engineering.
