Insurance Agents

Cafeteria Plans

• A Wellness plan is placed inside a Section 125 Cafeteria Plan• A 125 plan allows the value of the plan to be treated as

pre-tax and deducted from the participating employee’s reportable income thus lowering the amount of FICA and other taxes withheld

• Since employers must match the employees FICA, this lowers the employer’s FICA contributions by typically $500 - $800annually per employee (varies by plan)

• Participating employees receive a fixed indemnity claim payment for performing certain activities

• The indemnity claim helps to bring their take-home pay back to its original amount plus typically creates a benefit bank of $100 to $300 per month
