The FG Series is a magnetic float level transmitter that continuously measures the level of a liquid in a tank or other type of vessel. The FG level transmitteruses the principles of magnetism and buoyancy to generate an electronic resistance output in response to the continuously changing liquid level. The level transmitter is comprised of a float and stem, also called the sensing rod, as shown in the below illustration. The float is selected and sized for its buoyancy in the specific liquid to be measured and contains a magnetic element. The sensing rod is sized for the specific maximum measuring length required and incorporates a series of magnetically activated sensors (reed switches) which respond to the magnetic field of the float to generate the electronic output. The FG series magnetic float level transmitter can also be equipped to produce a 0/4-20mA output signal. The magnetic float level transmitter is very reliable and cost-effective.

INSTALLATION

Mount the FG magnetic float level transmitter awayfrom the inlet liquid flow. Avoid installation wherestrong waves and agitation exists as this can produce errors.
If installation of the FG magnetic float level transmittercannot avoid agitation, surface waves and other disturbances it is recommend to install a pipe shield.Consult with Aplus Finetek as the FG level transmittercan be provided with a pipe shield.
Use an L-shaped support structure when no roofstructure exists, such as mounting from a concrete wall as shown here.
It is recommended to select a process connectionsize such that the opening in the tank roof has adiameter (d) that is greater than the diameter of the float being used in the FG magnetic float level transmitter.
